We booked Banjo for a business lunch. All I can say is that it was great. Food was perfect (I had a sea bass special with truffle chips), the waiter service was spot on (although he did get carried away when he heard us talking about the football and the England game which added a bit of warmth) and the meal was relaxed without being hurried or waiting too long for anything. Would happily go back again and soon.

Loved the decor, definitely a nice relaxed setting to have dinner in. The food was good. I can recommend the Tomahawk steak and if you are really hungry it even works as a meal for 1. Due to this I had no space for dessert so I will have to go back again to sample that. The only small complain I would have is the service that was not quite on par with other similar level of restaurants. Other than that it's worth a try if you are in the vicinity.

We stayed for three nights in 'Leslie', one of the front facing rooms. It was very large, but comfortable and the only problem is traffic noise from delivery vehicles and garbage disposal trucks early in the morning. We liked the fact that once we had checked in and paid we were left alone and hardly saw anyone except when we came back after dinner. The room was kept spotless by the lady who also did an excellent job every morning of polishing the brass hand rails at the front.
We were given the option when we arrived of ordering continental breakfast in our room, but declined and instead ate at The Beresford Street Kitchen, which served good toast and breakfast rolls. If you want a cooked breakfast, there are several places in the Central Market, next door to Banjo.
We ate dinner at Banjo one evening and the place was packed out on a Wednesday evening. A maître d' keeping an overall eye on things would have helped towards the end when everyone was wanting their bills and the staff were getting stuck at one end of the room. Apart from that, the service was very prompt and the food was excellent.
