This walk is one not to miss. Starting off at Le Rocque Harbour, you are guided on a 1.5 hour walk by fantastic guides, who are very knowledgeable about the area and it's wildlife. The glow worms were beautiful and I would definitely recommend the walk to everyone. Thank you so much to Derek, who took our walk. You were wonderful!

A fabulous walk out to Seymour Tower at night time. It was a cloudy evening so we didn't have the full moon experience but it was amply compensated for by the fact we witnessed the bio luminescence. A truly wonderful experience and one which we will hopefully repeat at some time.

Having a cloudy night gave us the opportunity to see the bioluminescence. Had there been no clouds and the full moon we'd have not seen this amazing phenomenon.
The strange moonlight when the moon appeared from behind the clouds was very special.

Hope we'll see you again on our seabed walks.

We went on the sea foraging oyster trail on a cold and windy Sunday afternoon. Despite the weather the whole experience was great. Wellies were provided which was a must as only visiting for three days we did not pack wellies! Additional weatherproof jackets was also provided, which was greatly accepted given the weather. Both guides Derek and Trudie were very informative and knowledgable about the seashore and what could be used and eaten! The walk ended in the local pub where drinks were provided along with wonderfully fresh oysters. All in all it was a great afternoon.

Thanks Susan.
It was great to hear you share your knowledge of seafood with the others and hope you found some good restaurants in Jersey to sample the Jersey fresh seafood. One of the nice things about ending the walk-in Seymour Inn is the chance to sample oysters in the warmth of the pub and the open fire was a nice touch by the landlord. Plus, this gives us the chance to explain things a bit more. Not everyone is able to bring along a pair of boots or a windproof top so we can supply these as well as walking poles.
Hope you had a good time in Jersey and we'll see you both again.

I received a voucher at Christmas for a Sea Foraging, Oyster Trail with Bubbles & Oyster Tasting and after a postponement, due to bad weather, joined a group of 14 on my chosen date for the two and a half hour walk from Seymour slipway. After meeting our guide Trudi and donning Wellington boots we set off an hour before low tide on a late sunny afternoon. It was an easy walk to the oyster and mussel beds but the highlight of the walking adventure was the relaxed, informal but professional and extremely interesting talk given by a passionate and knowledgeable Trudi who stopped along the way to talk about a range of topics from sea vegetables (not seaweed!) - including how and where to forage for these and how to prepare and enjoy them - to beach and sea creatures and a whole host of interesting facts. After the walk we retired to the Seymour Inn to sample the local oysters. I would highly recommend this walking adventure to both locals and visitors to Jersey.

Many thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review. Our seabed walks down to the oyster beds followed by the oyster tasting at the nearby pub have proved popular. We try to make the walk interesting because there is so much history and knowledge about our marine environment to share.
Many thanks
Derek

We had a most informative and interesting experience provided by Trudie who was the guide for our private group visit to the oyster beds and mussel farm poles in Grouville Bay. Although I am Jersey born and used to live in Grouville for many years I was very impressed by Trudie's knowledge and learnt so much more about our marine environment. Even if you don't eat shellfish this tour is a great experience.

The oyster farming and history of oysters in jersey is one of the hidden secrets of Jersey. We try to bring the past to life an reveal the unique contribution our maritime environment has made on our island. I hope you'll find time to join us on our other seabed walks which is a great way to discover the remarkable marine life that exists in what is the largest rocky intertidal area in Europe.
Regards
Derek
