We spent five days at the hotel and having read some of the reviews beforehand were slightly concerned about what it would be like. However we were well satisfied and felt it was good value for money - we were in one of the front seaview rooms with balcony on the second floor. which I had particularly requested because this was a special occasion visit to Jersey. It was one of the rooms which had not yet been refurbished and was certainly dated and needed upgrading but it was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was bright, clean and functional but certainly in need of attention. The hotel is on a very busy road and the noise was intrusive particularly when sitting on the balcony, however it wasnt a major issue and the views were lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and responded immediately to any requests for help. Renovation work in the hotel caused problems with the fire alarm but we were always contacted and reassured that everything was OK. We only had bed and breakfast and usually had the full English which was well cooked and plentiful. This is a very traditional hotel which reminded me of seaside hotels in the 60's and 70's. Its location is great and we were able to walk into the town or harbour area easily. I would recommend it to others but perhaps not families - it is more suited to older couples. However that view may be coloured by the fact that we were having an out of season break and the hotel was very quiet with only older couples staying during the period we were there. A lovely warm conservatory area at the front of the hotel provided a very pleasant sitting area.

We were very impressed with the newly refurbished bedrooms and dining room at The Ommaroo , very modern, contemporary design within the grand facade of this beautiful hotel.
The Staff were lovely, the dinner and service were faultless.
Excellent value on the food, wine, bar and rooms. Great breakfast.
The Ommaroo is a magnificent hotel in a great location and we wish them every success with their ongoing refurbishment.

The hotel has a lot of character and history attached to it, But the room was very basic no balcony the bathroom was to hot, and the shower was very poor, toilet seat moved when you sat on it, our room was over looking the kitchen we were woken every morning at 06.30 by the delivery van and loud voices, if you want an early night or a lie in of a morning then this hotel is not for you, we spent two and half hours one night trying to get into the room because the card key wouldn't let anyone in, the manager had to come from home to let us in with her key, be aware of health and safety risk.
there was a problem with the fire alarm that went off twice while we were there .
we liked Jersey and visited most of the island and may come back again But not to this hotel.

Having read previous reviews we were a bit anxious about staying in this hotel but our fears were unfounded. It's a lovely hotel with lots of character. We had a room with a seaview and balcony which was lovely, with a fantastic en-suite bathroom, all very clean. Yes this hotel is older, and its not really for families with children, but it's comfortable and charming and has lots of history and its in a great location with the lido directly opposite and only a 10 minute walk into the town. The food was great, we had the bed, breakfast and evening meal option, the menu changed daily, there was lots of choice, good portions and great service. There is a well stocked bar, and entertainment on for 3 nights of the week we were there. We had a wonderful time in Jersey and this hotel had a lot to do with how we felt, we would definitely return here if we went back to Jersey.

just returned from my first ever trip to jersey channel islands what a beautiful place quaint picturesque and will certainly return. The hotel the ommaroo was great value efficient friendly staff(many customers returnd year after year not too stuffy quite relaxed atmosphere quite a grand building with a beautiful dining room meals either b&b or half board food excellent good breakfast selection and fabulous 4 course evening meal although only complaint portions of main course too large. although dining room modern it still has the traditional touches of yester year like the silver service and the sweet trolley. Bedrooms basicish but good with a bright modern bathroom. there was some evening entertainment but we didn't bother. the location was great 10-15 mins walk into st hellier or short bus ride outside the hotel and great location if you have a car some wonderful beaches near by Brillards bay is beautiful This isn't the most upto the minuite modern hotel but really serves a purpose giving great value jersey i would recommend to couples or friends not really family's with young children it seems to appeal to the older generation but there is still lots to offer younger people. this was my first break with my mother and we both really enjoyed it and carn't wait to go again. the hotel is right on the beach and also on a busy main road the beach.

im afraid to say this was a poor hotel. Glad we only had two nights. The staff were nice enough and a porter did help us to the room but the quality of the hotel is not good. There was that cabbage smell you get in dodgy hotels. Location means taxi into the great jersey resturants or no drinking. Much better hotels are avaliable
