I. Did not stay at the hotel but invited to mothers day lunch. I have eating in quit a few places and this has to be one off the worst, for £27,00 you got soup very nice cold sliced ham and raw fish plus 5 salads, there was the roasts and a poor selection off vegetables, when it came to dessert it was bad only 3 plus cookies and the best was the hot dessert cut into 2 save money.

The service was also very poor

Recently spent 2 nights here for work, A massive hotel with lovely looking interior and exterior. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms very large, modern and clean with everything you need for great stay. A good 15 mins walk into St Hellier Town centre with plenty of choice of restaurants and places to eat/shop. If you fancy treating yourself stay here you won't be dissapointed!!!!

We booked this hotel on line for our 50th wedding anniversary as we spent our honeymoon in Jersey in March 1961 ~ Lovely clean room overlooking St Helier with fresh linen daily. Reception staff were keen and helpful. Breakfast varied and plentiful with lots of staff and chef in attendance. Food and drink in the Aroma Cafe bar was not expensive by Jersey standards and the staff were eager to please. The hotel exterior terraces and gardens were clean and well maintained. The courtesy bus was useful as the hotel is about 15 minutes from the town centre. The local bus also stops outside.
We would use this hotel again.

I was a little concerned by some of the reviews, but can only say we had a fabulous time. Staff attentive, rooms thoroughly clean, excellent bathrooms. Spa was spotless and manager there couldn't have been more helpful in securing us a massage appt. The Saffron restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast whilst very plentiful could have been slightly hotter, but a minor blip in a perfectly lovely stay.

Very nice rooms, singles were particularly large, good location, lovely leisure centre. Let down by the reception staff who failed to pass on messages from other friends staying there and inform us of a delivery of bikes to the hotel we were expecting - Both of which caused us quite massive problems. Was also kept awake on one night by music coming from the hotel conference centre. Not sure if we were unlucky in the staff we dealt with but didn't give a great impression.
Also parking is first come first served and after going out for dinner on one evening and arriving back at about 10pm we couldn't find anywhere to park.

This is supposed to be one of the best hotels on Jersey and I was very disappointed with the place. The hotel itself, including the bedrooms, were warn and dated. The duvet cover was old, the room wasn't particularly clean - a tampax packet on the toilet floor. The room was a good size but the layout was odd. The TV was tiny and not visible from the bed. The wallpaper by the window was peeling and there were insects trapped in the window as well as stagnent water just outside the window.

The cleaner was loitering outside the room as we were on the way to breakfast. As we were waiting to shower until after breakfast we had a messy bathroom for the next 24 hours.

The spa looked lovely, however it was dirty. There was muck in the cold pool and in one of the warmer pools there was a thick brown line of dirt round the top..

A very disappointing experience

We are amazed by this review, we have had no complaints regarding cleanliness from the thousands of guests in the past 6 months and indeed virtually all Trip Adviser reviews mark us very highly on cleanliness. Our spa is visited regularly by journalists and has received excellent reviews from major publications.

LucyFM is obviously a well travelled person with 41 reviews from all over the world in 3 years. Surely with this hotel experience the first action would have been to bring the complaints to the management. Equally when wishing to have the room cleaned later place the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door or inform reception that the room needs to be revisited.

Guest satisfaction is very important to us and if LucyFM would write and advise us of the dates of her stay and room she occupied we are more than willing to investigate and write back to her.

We don't normally stay in such large hotels, so our experience was all the more pleasing. We were impressed with how well the hotel is run, with good experiences from arrival at reception (the receptionist gave us very helpful and clear information on the hotel itself and nearby restaurants, how to get to the centre of town, etc) and all through our stay. The breakfasts were a particular delight, with a huge choice and fresh cooked eggs, bacon etc. available at all times (a big contrast to so many buffet breakfasts in hotels). We did not try the hotel's evening meals (the menu did not suit our tastes being Asian themed) but there are several good fish, Italian and Portuguese restaurants in reasonable walking distance. The room was excellent - spacious and comfortable - and very quiet at night.
