Four of us were traveling to the Channel Islands. Three had been in 2010 and were returning to our favorite places, one of which was the Revere Hotel. We liked the hotel's location, near Elizabeth Castle and an easy walk to the city centre. We also liked the fact that they have their own restaurant and bar. The rooms are not fancy, but are very clean, have comfortable beds, and had everything we needed. The breakfasts are very good, as was the food at dinner the night we ate there. The staff are quite helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: If you ask for a room on the back, it will be quieter than being on the street side.

This beautiful quaint hotel was our home for 4 days in July, so my family could celebrate my very big birthday with me. It may be jaded around the edges - but that does not matter as the staff make up for everything. From the moment you enter through the front door and greeted by the lovely receptionist Nicola. All the staff work extremely hard to make the stay complete. Toni in the bar is a joy and the wonderful restaurant staff and porters work tirelessly to make the stay memorable.
I cannot thank Tim and his staff enough for the best birthday weekend ever. Hopefully we will be back soon

Booked this hotel for my 50th birthday, and was not disappointed, the staff are friendly and very helpful, on the actual day, we had dinner in the candlelight restaurant, and the staff allowed my children to decorate where we were sitting and the table, the food was lovely and when dessert arrived the staff came out singing happy birthday and had put a candle on my dessert, Hope to go back for the Christmas market. Central for getting about, close to the bus station.

We were really pleased we booked this lovely hotel for our honeymoon. It is a little gem, full of charm and with a rustic character. Delighted to be upgraded to a four-poster room. Thank you again! We'll be back.

Cannot think of anything negative to say other than our stay was too short. We came away for a birthday weekend and it couldn't have been a better choice.
Nothing was too much trouble. By far the widest choice that I have seen for breakfast in this price range. Dinner was wonderful. A range of mouthwatering treats from the a la carte or set menu were equally tasty. Service everywhere was fantastic from the bar to Reception to the restaurant.
The decor is great in the public areas and give the hotel it's charm. Loved it so much we are going back in August.
Some guests were complaining about room noise but we didn't have any issues.
If you are coming by bus from the airport, get off at the Grand and walk up the side road- you are minutes from the hotel. Quicker than if you stay on until Liberation Station.

We stayed here a few days during our honeymoon while cycling around Channel Islands. It was a mixed experience. The hotel looks pretty, the staff is helpful and friendly, it's located nearby the centre of St Helier, and offers bar and restaurant. The rooms are clean and sufficient spacious and the breakfast is a buffet which offers the usual British standards, as much as you want. Revere offers a restaurant, but this is not really exiting, even though it pretends to be something special. There were some disappointing points during our stay, which we tried to claim, but they could not all be settled although the staff tried to. We had informed the hotel right from the booking about lactose intolerance, they did know it, but that was worth nothing. Not even soya milk was available for breakfast. We first had a room on the backside, which really was hot, although the weather was only about 20 degrees C, the windows could hardly be opened so it was an unpleasant stay here. They gave us a new room, was which dark but cooler, but here the tap for cold water was dead, only boiling hot water came out. Little points, I know, but for honeymoon all together a bit too much to ignore. Reasonable price, friendly staff, location and interieur are fine, so a mixed experience.

Difficult to write any review of The Revere without the use of superlatives to describe the hard working, attentive and friendly staff who went the extra mile to make our 10 night stay such a delight.

Situated in a quiet lane just 150 metres up from the beautiful sea front Esplanade and less than 10 minutes stroll from the centre of St Helier, The Revere is quaint and unashamedly old fashioned; don't be put off, the effect is a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone age. This defines the standard of service which is genuine, unforced and generous in its hospitality. This is not a so-called 'Boutique' hotel. Thank goodness.

Our bedroom at the rear of the hotel was roomy and comfortable with modern ensuite bathroom and excellent power shower. I'd like to say it was quiet, but the bonhomie of Ben, the outgoing and fun maitre'd of Dorans, just below our windows, made us feel as if we were right there. A quiet word with reception, and the problem quickly went away. No problem with Ben, I just don't think he realised how far his personality carries! The only other small issue was that with the Summer heat, our room was quite stuffy, but again, a quiet request to reception and within 3 minutes, the indefatigable Pyotr appeared with a very welcome fan. Daily housekeeping was faultless, and I could have sworn that the bed was made up each day with fresh linen. The ladies made it a delight to return to our cosy room after a busy day doing touristy stuff!

Everything about our stay was top notch but special mention has to be made of the staff at Candlelight Restaurant. Under the proactive, professional and very hospitable supervision of Alex, her people are just the best and all worked effortlessly as an effective team to make Candlelight a pleasure palace showcasing the considerable talents of the young head chef and her kitchen staff. It's rare to see such harmony in a restaurant, but Alex, Irena, Flavia, Simeon (Flambe Master!) and Peter made it look so easy. Tony the barman was great too, a good conversationalist and listener and a fabulous asset to the hotel. It would be remiss not to mention all the unsung heroes in Reception, for whom no request was too much trouble and who dealt with all customers like long lost members of the family.

All in all, we had probably the best holiday for many years. The weather helped of course, and the calm, unfussy and natural beauty of Jersey, but what really made it for us was The Revere Hotel. Thanks to all, and we can't wait to return.

For information, we travelled outside school holidays.

Room Tip: Room 53 at the rear has a comfortable 4 poster and modern ensuite. A bit stuffy in warm weather (cur...
