We stayed at this hotel whilst on a four day break to Jersey in Nov 2007.
Overall the experience was good. Comfortable room which was well appointed. Not big but not tiny by any means.Bathroom with shower/bath was fine.
Breakfast was fine, self service providing the usual fruits, cereals, breads and traditional english breakfast fayre.
The hotel is handily placed about 10 minutes walk to the town centre. Plenty of good quality restaurants within a 15 minute walk. Beware Sundays in winter however (many restaurants are closed). No car park but the hotel is adjacent to the multi storey car park which is free at night (5-8).
Other contributors have raised a question about noise from a disco in the hotel on a Saturday. A disco was held on the Saturday we were there but we were warned by reception and to be fair (and our room was above the dance room) the noise was absolutely minimal and no problem.
We didn't eat in (evening meal) at the hotel retaurant as we prefer to sample local restaurants.
Overall, considering the price we paid, we were VERY happy with this hotel and with Jersey in general.

The Revere is a great hotel. friendly staff, brilliant location and hotel has great decor.

If you like your hotels to have a modern look it may not be for you but if you like hotels with character it's for you.

Our rooms were a nice size, clean and had a comfy bed.

TV in room, kettle - coffee and tea supplied and hairdryer.

Breakfast was great and the bar area was fab.

If you like beer (real ales) you must try The Lamplighter No. 9 Mulcaster Street not too far away from the bus station and tourist info office. I hear the food is also good here but when we were there the kitchen was having a refurb I think as they were only serving sandwiches.

The Bridge is another nice pub.

Pizza Express is a must in St Brelades Bay - don't let the name put you off.. OK they serve Pizza but it is a fab restaurant that overlooks the bay.

Another great pub for food is The Smugglers Inn St Ouaisne Bay [--]

The Revere Hotel is tucked away down a little side street in St. Helier. Don't let the location put you off. We've stayed here twice now. It's full of character with excellent staff who help you make the most out of your stay. The hotel is obviously not purpose built being on many different levels so if you can't manage stairs this is not the one for you (there is no lift, but there is a porter to carry your luggage). Breakfast was excellent, with so much to chose from. There are 3 restaurants within the hotel. We ate at two of them and were most impressed. Bar prices are a little on the steep side but this is the norm at most hotels. It's a easy walk into the centre of st. helier, the beach and also to the marina. The hotel will arrange car hire for you should want it, but its very expensive to park on Jersey. The tourist bus service is cheap, easy to use and goes to nearly every attraction on the island. We loved our stay.

We recently stayed at the Revere but it was a disappointing experience.
From the outset I was alarmed as we booked the hotel months in advance but half payment was required up front, rather than the usual deposit. Upon arrival our £135 a night room smelled of damp, the towels were well past their sell by date, the shower and bath fittings were broken, and privacy from the yard protected by a flimsy net curtain. In retrospect we should have complained at that point but decided to grin and bear it. However the real problem was with noise from kitchens, constant staff walking too and fro, and a potato peeling machine just outside the bedroom window! The first night resulted in a complaint to reception at 1.30am, and in fairness the machine was turned off. However to my astonishment the manager later denied that staff received a call, effectively calling me a liar! The breakfast was OK, but the restaurant manager was surly and just raised his chin to direct us to our tables. (He was far more concerned about moving nearby tables for a wedding reception whilst we were still eating.)
In fairness the bar area was excellent, especially with some live jazz, and reception and bar staff couldn’t be more helpful. Once back home I sent a list of complaints to the manager, suggesting a partial refund would seem appropriate (even to charity), but this was simply out of the question.
The bottom line is that this is a tired hotel, now motivated by money rather than quality service. The manager needs to have a serious look at his attitude and start listening.

We stayed at the Revere for the bank hol weekend. Having paid £140per night we were expecting much more than what we actually got. Granted the downstairs of the hotel was quiant and the staff were helpful and friendly but once upstairs it was a different story! The room looked like something from the 70's. The room faced the side street and every night we were woken by drunken people walking down the street shouting, music playing from cars and then the lorries that arrived to unload to all the restaurants at 6.30am! Oh and plus the rubbish men too which we didnt expect on a bank holiday weekend. We`are a young couple and like to go out and have fun like everyone else but even by our standards this was noisy! Then when we got up and tried to use the shower it involved standing in the bath for 10 mins trying to get the right temperature. it seemed like the water was either scorching hot or freezing cold and it required a real knack to get right and flushing the toilet required 3 or 4 attempts as the systems are so out of date. it was very frustrating to say the least.

On a posituve note the Doran restaurant was fantastic food and friendly staff. Jersey is a lovely place to visit but there is no way i would return to this hotel again.

Although we did not actually stay at The Revere (but definately will next time we visit Jersey) we did eat at the Candlelight Restaurant on two evenings and found the food, wine and service to be absolutely excellent.
We were staying at another hotel and were disappointed with the food and service and ambience (see Pomme D'or review) so decided to try the Revere on the advice of another tourist. We were very pleased with the olde worlde faded charm of this quaint and historical hotel and the pleasant, helpful staff.
I can thoroughly recommend the Chateaubriand steak, which did take 40 minutes to cook (the waiter warned us of this prior to ordering) but was so delicious and well worth the wait. The wine choice was varied and good value and the setting romantic and charming. Next to the restaurant is a lounge bar with interesting little nooks and crannies where a very good live pianist played classical, jazz, swing and easy listening music and chatted away to the guests with friendly ease.
This hotel is probably not for someone who likes modern fixtures and large "chain style" hotels but if you want history, good food and quaint charm then the Revere will not disappoint.
