We just enjoyed a superb Mothers Day lunch at Seven Angels. I had been here once before for a Christmas lunch and had vowed to return and I was certainly not disappointed. I told my family to expect excellent food and I think they were a bit dubious seeing it from the outside but don't be put off by this - yes its in a slightly down market street in St Helier but the moment you enter you feel a wonderful atmosphere, great quirky decor and an excellent welcome from lovely staff. I had the home made liver pâté with caramelized onion marmalade( soo good) and Melba toast, followed by beautiful fillet of bream served on a bed of wilted spinach and dauphinois potatoes with a prawn sauce. Honestly, to die for. Some of us had the slow cooked belly pork with crispy crackling which was also good. The deserts were just amazing too- eg creme brulee with white chocolate and baileys and a really good sticky toffee pudding. Considering it was Mother's Day and the place was full the service did not suffer. We just could not fault the food, the staff and also the toilets - they are worthy of a mention on their own- beautifully dressed up with an old fashioned ceramic flowered sink and a whole selection of hand creams, moisturisers soaps and hair sprays. Such attention to detail. Seven angels you are very very good.
