“Fantastic hotel and staff”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

Have just returned today from a three night stay in this lovely hotel. The location is perfect, just a short walk into town and the hotel itself is very very well looked after. The food was just lovely - we had two bar meals and one three course evening meal and all were delicious and beautifully presented. What really sets this hotel apart however is the staff. Every single member of staff was polite, courteous and extremely helpful - a credit to the hotel. We were there in the recent severe weather and the whole island was disrupted so we were confined to the hotel for a day and a half (no hardship there but we did have other events planned which we couldn't make sadly) however, the hotel lit a roaring fire in the drawing room and we were made to feel very welcome and at home. I must also add that the Manager is so very kind and under his guidance the hotel is run just perfectly. Thank you all at the Savoy we would definitely return.

Room Tip: We were located at the back of the hotel overlooking the swimming pool (ROOM 93) my sister was in ro...

Fantastic Hotel, Staff & Management, I used to work in Jersey (30+yrs ago) so this was like a homecoming, alot has changed in St Helier since then with land being reclaimed from the sea and hotels built on them. We (Party Of Three) booked into The Savoy Hotel and was very impressed by the outside of the hotel with it's spotlless exterior, we were greeted with a warm welcome at reception by staff as we were a few hours early for check-in we went to the bar to sit and relax (ok we had a drink) after 20 minutes we were allowed our rooms which was great to get in early and I thank the staff for that. We were all looked after very well by All the Staff and by the General Manager Mr Tim Brookes who runs and excellent Hotel, this is classed as a 4 Star when you see some of the hotel that get a 5 Star I think this sould easily be a Five. my BIG THANKS to ALL at The Savoy. WE WILL BE BACK (Please note I never review or comment on Holidays or Hotels on this or any other site, if i had read some of the comments about this hotel on here I might never have booked and that would have been my LOSS, while people do have problems with holidays and this is their way to inform others it can do alot of harm. No Hotel wants a bad review I have had issues with hotels in the past and find that if you get no satifaction from staff go to the top the Manager how else will he / she know there is a problem.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night in Oct 2012. We thought the location was very good as we manged to walk to city centre without any problem. The entrance and foyer are very impressive in deed. However, the room was disappiontment. Tired decoration and dated furniture. The bed was stiff and uncomfortable but well do for 1 night. The breakfast was very good. Excellent service as well. Overall, the hotel is good value for money but certainly not a 4 star. Finally, the staff are exceptional: very welcoming and helpful.

I stayed in November just for a few nights. I wasnt best pleased to find that my room was opposite the poilce station...Stayed on a friday and Saturday night....wasnt the quietest. Rooms were functional nothing special and the bathroom was slightly cold but as i was only in the room in the evening it has everything you need. I didnt use the restuarant or bar so I cant comment on that, had room service both night...Steak cibatta filled the gap quite nicely! A few times i tried to phone reception and didnt get an answer, as head receptionist of a 4* hotel I found this abit strange. Town centre is a short easy walk which was excellent for some last minute xmas shopping. I would possibly stay again but not in a room overlooking the police station!

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the police station

A long weekend on first trip to Jersey since visiting as a young child. Room good if a little dated. Bar friendly to have a drink or snack. We didn't use restaurant. Handy location although doesn't have views.

We stayed for a long weekend as my cousin was having her party at the hotel on the Friday evening and had a really nice three night break. The attention from the general manager Tim was first class and you could always tell when he was on duty. Communication with a couple of the staff was sometimes a bit laboured because of language issues but all in all a very enjoyable stay. The accomodation was good, i believe the downstairs public areas have recently been updated and looked very smart the bedroom was fine and with a few bits of tidying up the bathroom would be good as well. Some people have commented on the housekeeping and i would say that is the only area that needs a bit more attention in my opinion The breakfast was very nice and well cooked but they ran out of croissants each morning , as they were closing for the winter on our last day i could forgive them that. Drinks were not cheap, normal hotel prices my friends told me but the service was attentive and pleasant so again acceptable. A 10 minute walk to the town centre and the sea front so if you are not so mobile that needs to be taken into account.
To sum up a good value hotel and they make the effort to give you good service so i would reccomend it and i would stay here again!

Room Tip: If there is a function on, the rooms at the back are nosier but they always inform you with a letter...

This hotel has fantastic public rooms, especially the Drawing Room to take Afternoon Tea, a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The bedrooms are comfortable but nothing spectular but however are clean. However the housekeeping was somewhat lacking in that one day we only had one towel left and the follolwing day the diry towels were left in the room but other than that everything was fine. The food in oth the restaurant and bar was excellent along with the service of the staff especially the Head Waiter. We had a room at the back and it was quiet other than the occasional door banging which you get in most hotels. It is in a convenient location, a short walk from the Centre of St Helier.
