We stayed at the Mountview for a weekend break and found it excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. I hired a car, the parking is very limited but we always managed to squeeze in somehow. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the room has flat screen tv and new furniture. The breakfast was brilliant, lots of choice, and the full english was monster size portion. Would definately stay again and reccomend without hesitation.

Room Tip: some front rooms have balconies

ask for a room with a balcony if you smoke, the rooms in this hotel where very spacious, very clean, and the beds very comfortable, and the balcony was a godsend for me as a smoker, very few hotels in jersey have balcony,s.there is also a terrace with tables and chairs, the breakfast was fantastic and plentiful, tea and coffee realy hot.the staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble.the hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the town.we will never stay anywhere else in jersey, this hotel was perfect for us.

I stayed for 1 night in June and found the hotel clean, with very friendly helpful staff. Nice breakfast.

The hotel is in a great location - close enough to walk into the centre of St Helier but further enough away not to be bothered by traffic or noise from all the bars/shops.

I would certainly stay again.

Just one fault....my room had a big tea stain on the carpet as you walk in otherwise the room was clean, light, with a great view.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Mountfield, and I must say this place is real value for money. The frontage of the building could do with a coat of paint, but other than that it certainly merits its 2 star status. It may not be the Ritz but it definately has a lot to offer.Thebedroom was spacious and very clean, the toilet/shower room was a good size. The breakfast was absolutely excellent ,offering great choice and as much as you can eat! The staff were very helpful and welcoming.

We visited for a short break to Jersey, we were looking for a cheap place, but somewhere nice enough.

We were given a room at the top of the hotel, not too bad for our young legs and had a lovely view from the room of the rest of the mountain and some of the lovely residents at the back.

The room was part of a quad area and at the bottom was a patio area. This could be a little loud if there was a few people sitting out there and being a lovely warm day we had the windows open. But this didn't last long and Jersey isn't usually the destination for loud rowdy gangs of people, so I can't see being too many problems.

Breakfast was fantastic and the couple that ran the hotel were very friendly and attentive. The food was lovely coming straight from the kitchen when you ordered it.

The bedrooms were clean and comfortable. We only needed it to crash in after a good day sightseeing. It was ideal for this with plenty of room.

The only downside too the room was that the toilet was crammed into the bathroom with very little room. Not a problem for us but I can see it being a problem for others. Also the hot water in the room didn't get too hot, I had a warm bath and my girlfriend a shower. But the water took along while to heat up and then trying to get a shower on the last day the water didn't heat up at all. Although at the time this wasn't too much of an inconvenience so to be fair we didn't let the hotel know of the issue, so they didn't get a chance to resolve it.

All in all a lovely and comfortable stay it was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Jersey.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Mountview. Had a big room and paid extra for a balcony. Rather disappointed on arrival to find lovely large balcony complete with a set of step ladders, dust sheet, 2 large tins of paint, roller and couple of bags of rubbish. I asked at reception if these could be moved and was told yes but it did take 24 hrs. Very rarely anyone at reception but phone there with a number for you to ring to get a staff member. On arrival I also noticed there was a little rubbish in the bathroom bin this was not emptied all the time we were there plus it had further rubbish in we had put in during the week. We returned to room second day of our holiday to find our room had not been cleaned and tea tray not replenished. I went to reception, again unmanned and rang to request some milk so we could have a drink. I said room had not been cleaned and I did get an apology and was told the cleaner obviously missed our room out accidentally. Apart from these complaints the room was clean and the bathroom looked as though recently refitted and was lovely and clean and always plenty of hot water. Breakfast was plentiful and good service but somehow the place just does not seem to have any character and seems to lack a bit of soul. Reception is just a very small desk and rarely is anyone there, no computer on show or any info on Jersey, this is placed around a corner near the lift. Place just lacks a bit of TLC. Apart from all of this I must admit it was value for money here.

Room Tip: Pay extra and get balcony, well worth it.
