Lots of places are closed on a Sunday but Hectors was so busy people were waiting outside for a table. A change in the style of seating might help in that respect as all tables seemed to seat four and were occupied by one or two in some cases. The lady serving and clearing the tables deserved a medal. She was quick and efficient.
The fish and chips was good and plentiful. It was also licensed so you could have wine with your fish and chips or something else from the fairly extensive menu.

We had both the take away and went into the restaurant. Both excellent, food very hot and quickly served with a smile

Upon entering 'Hectors' my sister and I were greeted by Paul the owner and were a bit taken aback by his over familiar attitude towards us.

We are open minded middle aged women but thought it very bizarre for him to ask if we'd like to see the size of his 'Cod piece' which he told us can satisfy and fill any large hole!

First of all we laughed it off as a bit of over playful attention seeking but he came back and carried on making explicit references to sex which we found creepy and totally inappropriate.

Paul needs to rein in and control his vulgarity or seek psychological counselling if he has mental health issues.

As for the fish and chips:
They looked nice on the plate but the side orders of mushy peas weren't very hot.
Our meals were on the greasy side but tasted OK.
However within the hour we were both suffering from dreadful indigestion and had chronic acid heart burn throughout the night.

So would we recommend 'Hectors'?
The answer is no!

We had a lovely hot fresh meal here – massive portions of fish, and lovely chips, freshly cooked to order (This restaurant is eat-in on one side, carry-out on other). Drinks selection include ‘real’ ale’ and our friendly, helpful waiter guided us to the nearest real ale pub – ideal when you’ve just arrived on the island! Great value for money too.
