Had a wonderful dinner last weekend. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and very charming. The food looked as good as it tasted and the surroundings are beautiful. Cant afford to eat here all the time but for a special occasion would be hard to beat.

Always a favourite with us, we found ourselves back here in early November while visiting family nearby. Sunday is a particularly good day to go for an unhurried lunch with a traditional choice of main courses all of which are attractively presented as well as being delicious and served with well chosen accompaniments.

It was raining when we arrived and someone met us with an umbrella then parked our car for which we were most grateful. That level of service - attentive without being too intrusive - was characteristic.

The restaurant itself although traditional in decor and furnishings strikes a good balance between formality and maintaining a relaxed atmosphere.

Longeuville Manor provides a reliably good experience when eating in Jersey.

Six of us had booked for lunch and all had the tennerfest menu which could not be faulted for price taste and balance ,
we had a couple of bottles of wine that were excellent value . the staff were perfect, the food was delicicious in both taste and appearance and the bill was very pleasant , Longueville Manor used to have a reputation for being a bit stuffy but no longer in my opinion , after our meal we had a stroll in their beautiful gardens and a peek at the vegetable "patch " , the Lewis family can be rightly proud at the consistently high standards they achieve with this establishment

We arrived early for our meal and went into the lounge area where we had a drink whilst we looked at the menu and then ordered our meal. The food was excellent and could not be faulted. Having visited the Ocean restaurant the day before it was only natural that we would compere the different aspects of both venue's. Whilst the Ocean restaurant was run efficiently and calmly, Longueville seemed to have many more staff but without the efficiency.
We ate in the Oak room and although the room itself was lovely, the tables themselves were pushed into corners giving plenty of room for the staff and people passing through into the other dining room but very little room for the diners.
There was one action by a member of staff that we witnessed whilst in the lounge area, that we found to be extreamly rude and distasteful. An elderly couple had ordered a pot of tea and after about 20 minutes it had not arrived. When the gentleman asked about it a young lady said " sorry I forgot " and then laughed. Certainly not the kind of service you expect from a 5 star establishment.
