“Fantastic meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

Last week we tried most of the top rated restaurants on trip advisor in St Helier and some were better than others. However we came across the Candlelight Restaurant in the Revere Hotel by chance . It had a cosy, friendly "olde-worlde" atmosphere with lovely staff. The fillet steak was the best my husband has ever eaten and he is a real steak lover, having eaten it in many top restaurants all over the world. I had lobster yum!! It was such a good meal we decided to visit again a few days later and it was fantastic . We enjoyed having our coffees in one of the little alcove lounges very relaxing..... listening to the live pianist . We would definitely recommend this place due to the wide range of choice on the menu the quality of the food and cooking and the lovely staff. Our best meal in Jersey by far !!

“steak and a bottle of wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

We chose this having read other reviews and we weren't disappointed. Don't let the decor put you off, it is tired and dark. We ordered Steak Diane which was cooked at our table and tasted wonderful. The wine we chose complimented the meat.

“Disappointing!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

Where do I start? The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The decor is like being in Dracula's castle, dark and dingy. Food - we ate off the summer menu, starter "Brie and sweet potato parcels" only had one small parcel which was cold and the pastry raw when cut into. Main "tuna steak and crab cake" very bland and tasteless. Went for cheese and bics - 2 pieces of mild cheddar, thumbnail piece of blue cheese and Brie and 4 crackers! Won't be going again!!

“Superb as usual”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Visited Jersey in 1992 and found this Gem of a restaurant so booked a table. Meal was great. Been back 4 times since, last time with another couple last weekend. Both couples celebrating wedding anniversary on same night.
Food has been quite outstanding every time and good value. Steak Diane cooked at table, delicious.
Alexandra and Flavia .......take a bow. Excellent job.
