This is easily one of, if not the best, restaurants in Jersey. My husband and I eat here a couple of times a month and the food and service is consistently of a standard you simply can't find anywhere else and I don't mean just in Jersey. Other people have mentioned the decor, but we love it. The chairs are large and comfortable, the tables are plenty big enough and the surroundings are warm and inviting. As for value for money, the pasta specials on a Saturday at just £9.50 are excellent, as is the business lunch menu during the week. If you come to Jersey for a visit is an essential item on your itinerary.

La Capannina has to be one of the most overrated restaurants in all of Jersey. It is slowly fading into the abyss and its reputation, which was built mainly on business lunches, is all but over! It is overpriced, the staff were not good at all and generally just a terrible experience. The waiter spilt food on my wife, saw what he had done and then did not even clean it up, acknowledge the incident or say sorry. Extremely overpriced and do not even start to think of the wine list!!!

The restaurant is still an institution for Jersey dining albeit a fading one. The restaurant has never had a Michelin Star and is rumoured never to have wanted one

It is a couple of years since my last review as this all time favourite restaurant is not what it once was. Prices have increased dramatically and the décor has not changed much in over 30 years although it now has air conditioning.

There are two parts to the restaurant. The "new"( a relative term) more glamorous part and the older part near the main entrance. If you are one of Tino's favourite customers you will be booked into the new part but, regrettably, for the last booking we were relegated to Table 4 looking into the area where the dishes are cleared in the older part. You are definitely out of favour if you are put in the old part (especially when there are vacant tables in the new part!).

In effect, nothing changes or will change, apart from the prices, and the devoted care of Joel and Fernando who still make it worth going to the restaurant. With a number of new restaurants being opened, it will be interesting to read the TA reports on BANJO.

I can't imagine there being a more authentic Italian restaurant than this anywhere outside of Italy. In fact, I imagine there are restaurants in Italy that are less authentic than this!

From start to finish we could not of enjoyed our evening here any more. Perfectly cooked and perfectly served food that was an absolute delight to eat. The atmosphere was brilliant, with friendly and knowledgable staff on hand to take care of everything. A glass never ran dry and an empty plate never sat on the table.

If you want a special meal - you must go here.
