My first visit to the Channel Islands and so of course this Hotel ....
From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we felt very well looked after . The hotel is small and ably looked after by a lady called Mary .... This lady works extremely hard to do all and showed us to our rooms ... & then showed us where to sit at mealtimes in a lovely restaurant. she seems to be on the go from early morning till very late at night. & is a true credit to this hotel.
Our room was situated in a garden section..& was of a decent size ... Bathroom and room cleaned daily and this was to a good standard .
I would certainly return to this hotel again ....
All in all an excellent one week break ..with most of it being the result of that wonderful lady and her staff whom i really cannot praise enough

Room tip: Garden rooms at back of hotel..

If you are a member of the blue rinse brigade, this hotel is for you!
As we are younger, we thought we had stepped back in time.
The positives- easy check in and pleasant,
Comfy clean beds with tea, coffee facilities. We were 3 sharing, towels and cups for 2 provided which was quickly remedied.
The negatives - lack of privacy between bedroom and en suite and whilst we all get on very well, Louvre doors are really not good.
Breakfast, full English was cold, poached eggs tepid, toast if you can call it that, had only had a quick glance at the toaster. Great if you don’t have your own teeth! But the tea and coffee were hot.
On checking out, we did receive an apology and out bill was reduced to reflect the breakfast.
Would we stay here again? No.

Stayed for a week . Was the start of a wonderful stay we arrived to sign in and was met by Mary who runs the hotel and is absolutely fantastic she signed us in then walk us to our room on the way pointing out where we would be seating for our meals. The room was in an outside space by the gardens it was a good size very clean .the bathroom was perfect and very clean. The meals were very good evening and breakfast.the staff were very good the waiters in the evening were very good and always joking and having a laugh the staff in the morning were excellent as well. But a big mention must go to Mary who seems to be everywhere I think if she was not around it would be a complete different hotel. We don't think enough praise can be levelled at Mary and her staff .

It has been some years since we stayed here and we were surprised to see Mary still in attendance. I really do not know where she gets all here energy from and never gets flustered. Really comfortable bed and the room clean and tidy. The evening meal very nice as usual. The breakfast was'nt too good though, the beans were only just warm one day. There are an awfull lot of people to serve at any one time so while I can understand there has to be a lot of pre-planning when to cook the food it should still be edible. The majority of people staying here are a bit older than me so maybe they don't want a hot breakfast. When we stay again and it's the same I shall mention it. Only had a couple of nights there so did'nt think it worth mentioning at the time. No car parking but there is a car park in the next street. The hotel is only a 5/10 min walk and there is a pretty good bus service now so I think maybe you don't need a car. Garden out at the back where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine and tables at the front facing onto the road and entrance to hotel. There is a lift for those with mobility problems and plenty ground floor accomodation. Keep up the good work Mary.

The Runnymede may not be The grandest Hotel I’ve stayed in but it ranks high up with the friendliest and most helpful. The wonderful Mary, who appears to do almost every job in the place, was fantastic. She booked trips and got us the best seats on the coach, she was there all the time to sort things out and make them easy for you. The hotel itself was very comfortable, close to the main shopping area and 5 minutes from the beach. What more could you want. If I ever return to Jersey I’ll be staying at The Runnymede.
