Get a feeling of days gone by wandering around the gardens of this lovely old Jersey Manor House. Many different areas to be explored including the herb garden.

The tour of the house starts very promply so we missed out. The gardens have a lot to look at even at the end of the season.

We visited Samares Manor on a very hot day and the shade the trees offered was very welcome! The pigeon 'loft' had recently been restored and rethatched although with room for fifty birds it now offered them a deluxe residence! Although many of the flowers had gone over there was still enough to give us an enjoyable visit and some lovely strolling time. Lots of seats tucked away when the legs needed a rest too!
The Japanese Garden with ponds and Acers was delightful and the Koi carp enormous. We didn't go into the house, but did have lunch outside under an umbrella. All nicely made, very fresh and topped off with glasses of cold apple and lemon and lavendar fruit juices. The shop sells plants and gifts and I bought a Jersey Lily bulb to remind me of a happy visit.

My husband and I had a wonderful visit to this garden and thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the herb garden, the kitchen garden and the small lake complete with ducks and black swans. A high viewing terrace overlooking the property is worth the climb. The cafe with its pergola is very nice too.
