We spent a lovely week in Apt 3, next door to the horses' and donkeys' stable. No noise above us that week, it was very tranquil. The lovely location can't be overstated. The entrance fee to the grounds alone is £8 and this is your back garden for your stay. The Herb Garden Café is very attractive. Open whilst the grounds are, and the staff were very friendly and considerate. Waitrose & M&S are 10/15 mins walks away in different directions. Bus stop is immediately outside the grounds, once an hour into St Helier/Gorey, but walkable (to St Helier) in about 30/40 mins. Beach 10/15 min walk. We were met on our arrival by Ann, who manages the apartments, and given a warm welcome and all sorts of advice on local amenities.

On first look I thought the apartment quite small and Spartan. However it was anything but in reality. Heating, hot water and towels were plentiful. Bedroom 1 is the double with cot and is spacious and comfortable. Bedroom 2 is small and narrow, but still with good wardrobe, drawer space and very comfortable bed.
Wifi is as advertised, we had 3 devices going at once no problem. No interruptions to service,
Cab fare from the airport is £20-ish and about £8 from St Helier back to Samares Manor.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Samares Manor Apartments as a fantastic base for a Jersey holiday. We used public transport so not having a car isn't a problem. To come home in the evening to such beautiful surroundings was wonderful.

To sum up, Samares Manor is a sanctuary.

Come here if you want peace & quiet, enjoy gardens, nature and animals. If so this is the place for you and you would enjoy Jersey even without having to leave the estate. The apartments are in a wonderful setting and are a great experience.

The staff are friendly and are on hand to answer any questions. There is free WiFi access, washing machine, plenty of storage space and parking next to the apartments. Generally of a high standard and well maintained.

Our apartment was clean, well equipped and a converted old farmhouse. It was like a home from home. We were entertained by the donkeys in the stable next door, who gave us a wake up call every morning. The gardens are lovely to walk around in the evening when the tourists have left. Ideal for children to explore the grounds in a safe environment.

Recommended that you hire a car to explore, but there is a bus stop right outside of the entrance with a regular service into St Helier or Gorey. Jersey has some great restaurants to eat out, but the kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge, freezer etc so you can eat in comfortably and there is a panic bench on the lawn outside.

We were sad to leave and are looking forward to visiting soon…..

Had a lovely time staying at samares manor. Beautiful gardens to explore. Fed the ducks every evening with bread. Donkeys were gorgeous, even though they gave us an early morning call every day. Would recommend to anyone, ideal location, very relaxing.

We found here to be most relaxing and pleasant. The whole area is very well looked after and made for a great visit. The herb garden and the small garden tea room were our highlight. The tea room made a good good sandwich and cuppa tea.

We stayed in the Forge. A beautiful, spacious place that was perfect to come back to each evening. It has a lovely spacious kitchen diner and the double height living room was a cool a shaded room to retreat to. The windows looked out onto the donkey's paddock which delighted the kids. Being in the manor grounds was ideal as we had the run of the place after the public had left in the evening. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly and were on site if we needed anything. There was also a cafe on site which was so good that we came home early a couple of days to ensure we were there for last orders!

Wonderful gardens set in a great surrounding. Very well kept and maintained, very nice tea room serving nice snacks all day. Lots of places to sit and relax as the weather was perfect. Would visit again and recommend to others.

The only downside is that if you are downstairs you can hear the people above, and their children running about...Try to get an upstairs appt!
BUT this is lovely. The self-catering flats are in an old courtyard, quiet, sheltered, sun-kissed. The Gardens are delightful and in the evenings you have the full run of them, after the crowds have left. Sitting out in the courtyard or the herbal garden (with a drink or to eat) is just priceless.
Staff are unobtrusive but helpful and friendly. Inadvertently I tested this. I left a drawer-full of stuff when we left and only realized on my return. My wife e-mailed and they sent it on next day. We offered to pay postage, which they politely refused. My belongings arrived a couple of days later...
If we ever go back to Jersey, this is where we would stay. Just gorgeous.
PS I can confirm the appts do now have wifi and it works fine.

Room Tip: Downstairs appts you can hear the people above you. So try to get upstairs. Appt 3 is downstairs...
