OK, it is self-catering and not 'hotel standard' but everything was clean and tidy. Beds comfy (the sofa bed would probably not be suitable for adults, but our kids slept like logs).
It is (very) close to the airport, but the aircraft are not large and you honestly don't really notice it. It may be the lodges towards the top of the complex may be noisier - but we were fine. In fact, we were woken up more by the ducks than the aircraft!
The lodge came with washing machine/ drier, dishwasher, freeview TV and DVD, nice shower etc. Showing some sign of age in the bathroom with paint peeling - but hey ho!
There is an art area (candle making, painting, ceramics, bracelet making, sand art etc), mini-inflatable, large inflatable, badminton, table-tennis and inflatable laser zone. We used them all - a lot. But bear in mind, if someone is already playing you have to wait until they finished. We even had the 2 tennis courts to ourselves.
The two pools (indoor and outdoor) and nice and warm, kids (and me) spent hours in there.
BBQ areas are first come-first served but still plenty of room.
There are some unbelievable beaches and walks in the vicinity, and Waitrose/ Iceland are easily walkable (even laden with booze).
It may be just a tad too far to walk from the airport (we hired a car for the week).
We will definitely be back at some point - really enjoyable.
