We stayed here last August for a much needed break. Can't fault the service, the excellent top floor room with amazing views and the variety and quality of the food we were presented with. The hotel has an unrivaled location in this part of Jersey. We came away refreshed and very satisfied with our short break choice.

Room Tip: A room facing the beautiful bay is a must.

Having stayed at the Golden Sands on two occasions I can only say that this hotel is one of the best anywhere and certainly the best in Jersey in our opinion. It sits in a great location on the beach at St Brelade and the views are stunning. The service is always friendly and very efficient and that makes all the difference. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean and the food is of a high standard with good variety. Parking can be a problem as the hotel does not have it's own car park and our hire car was damaged (twice) in the public car park opposite but this is a minor niggle. If you want a fun, relaxing break in Jersey then look no further than this hotel.

Room Tip: The higher the better and if possible one with balcony overlooking the beach

The Golden Sands Hotel is situated alongside the best beach in Jersey and is definitely the best place to stay if holidaying on the island. St Brelades Bay was quiet and peaceful in Septembera when we visited.

The Hotel is first class with comfortable bedrooms and pleasant communal areas. The food in the restaurant is superb - a good choice of freshly prepared, beautifully cooked and wonderfully presented meals and delicious deserts. Breakfast is equally good with plenty of choice.

There was entertainment on two nights whilst we were there and the acts were of very high quality. (Somewhat spoilt by the rudeness of other guests who shouted to each other over the music).

We would definitely recommend a stay at the Golden Sands Hotel.

Room Tip: If you like a good view then it is well worth paying the extra for a sea view room with balcony.

I have stayed at the Golden Sands on every trip that I have made to the beautiful island of Jersey.
This is a first rate hotel with exquisite food, superb wines and staff to be proud of.
I always have a sea view room overlooking the glorious and uninterrupted view of St. Brelades Bay.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are the best.

The Hotel is in a fabulous location, probably the best on the island, and the staff were all kind, courteous and couldn't have been better. The breakfast menu was excellent, no problems at all, and so was the dinner menu. The was food was super, definitely 5 star, the only problem was having to wait for up to half an hour between courses on a couple of occasions at dinner.

The room was fine but the decor is dated, but we were informed that the rooms on the fourth floor are being updated over winter and brought up to the high standard of the rest of the hotel. However, the steps down into the rooms on the fourth floor could be a problem for anyone with mobility problems. But the room was spacious and the bathroom was fine. The room did overlook the car park, which does not belong to the hotel, so anyone taking their own car should be aware that it is a pay and display car park.

There are only a couple of minor, negative points and these are that there was not enough coat hangers in the wardrobe, only 5 doubles, but when I asked for some more they did arrive on the second time of asking. However, the safe was on the floor and to access it we had to lie down on the floor, and when we did we found it was broken. Although we reported it to reception it was not repaired during our stay. Having a safe on the floor is ridiculous.

I was concerned by some of the reviews I had read after we had booked our holiday which referred to noisy neighbours in adjacent rooms, but we didn't have a problem with noise, we were on the fourth floor so that might have helped and I needen't have worried.

There is a bus stop close to the Hotel and buying a multiple day pass will save a lot of money, and I would recommend it for exploring the island. But be aware most shops close on a Sunday.

Overall we enjoyed the Hotel and our holiday in Jersey.

Room Tip: The rooms on the fourth floor should be the quieter than those lower down, for anyone worried about...

We are surprised by a number of negative reviews of this hotel. We holiday extensively throughout Europe each year and have found this hotel on 2 recent visits excellent value for money. Our room at the rear on the 4th floor was spacious and would be classed as a mini suite in some hotels. We did not experience any noise from adjacent rooms.Service throughout the hotel was 1st class and the location is superb.
Our only minor complaint was that there was only a limited supply of fresh fruit at breakfast and my wife said the tomatao juice was not cold ! The selection of cooked foods at breakfast was substantial and was regularly replenished.
We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Select a room on the top 4th floor its quiet and obvioulsy no noise form guests above.Well possibly...

For our 25th Wedding Anniversary, chose to stay in Jersey and studied Tripadvisor and other websites long and hard to find somewhere special that ticked our boxes and this place did, and we weren’t disappointed.

The staff were all so friendly from the moment we arrived.

We chose a Superior sea view room on the top floor and along with the view was fantastic.

For evening dinner on our special day, we had 3 courses in the Sands restaurant and enjoyed them all, and the chef even decorated our ice cream dessert plate with “Happy Anniversary” written in chocolate.

We did have a problem one evening due to a gale outside, but this was quickly dealt with and didn’t spoil our enjoyment.

In truth, this hotel should be much higher up the TA rankings than it is. If some have queried in other reviews, it is a 4 star at least, no question about that.

We drove round the Island and to be honest, the location, the room as far as we could see could not be beaten and we had chosen the best hotel on the Island and wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else.

Thank you so much all at Golden Sands, and we will never forget our experience on our special occasion.

Will recommend this hotel to anyone we know going to Jersey, and I’m sure we’ll be back one day.

Room Tip: Choose a Superior Sea View Room
