I stayed here with my mum last week and couldn't fault the hotel or staff. We were greeted with pink champagne on arrival (choice of tea/coffee alternative), then shown to our very spacious and modern room. We were close to the reception, bar and pool which didn't bother us too much as it was late in the season. The restaurant staff were particularly friendly and made us feel so welcome every morning and evening. I am a vegetarian and the menu choice was always something wonderful, the one night that I didn't like the veggie option (curry) the chef came up with four or five different options for me, and I had delicious stuffed peppers. Nothing was too much trouble. Also, my mum uses soya milk at home, and they provided a jug of this for her at breakfast each morning. The continental pastries at breakfast were delicious and there was also the choice of cooked breakfasts. The quiet room in the hotel was gorgeous, with luxurious blankets, cushions and candles. Room service was top notch and fresh biscuits were provided each day. The cottages looked lovely, I would like to try one of these out next time! Dogs are also welcome at this hotel, we meet a cute springer spaniel. Plus the hotel was only a 15 minute drive to St Helier, and although we were close to the airport, we never heard a plane. I couldn't recommend La Place highly enough, already missing the great service, food and staff.

Room Tip: Room 103 very spacious and modern

Thank you as well for writing on tripadvisor! It is great to get such positive feedback from you and your mum and I am delighted that you couldn’t recommend La Place highly enough, that is a lovely comment to get.

I appreciate your comments about our vegetarian option on the menu, we always aim to please, so it is great that you felt nothing was too much trouble.

We hope you will be planning your next trip to Jersey soon so we can either welcome you back to room 103 or the cottages.

Best regards,
Margriet

Just arrived home after a week in La Place with my daughter. My third trip to Jersey and the best hotel by far. Loved the countryside location. Our twin room was poolside (no. 103) and had everything you could wish for. Very comfortable beds - would even go as far as to say luxurious. Room fitted out to a very modern high spec. Every member of staff greeted us with a smile and a kind word. My daughter is vegetarian and the chef created a lovely vegetarian dish each evening and also catered for her individual taste - superb service. One tip though, and I say this with great humour, if you take a facecloth make sure it is not a white one as mine got lifted with all the towels on the first day! We will be back and recommending the hotel to all our friends. Well done La Place.

Room Tip: Room 103 is a very spacious twin/double room, done to a high spec and is poolside.

Thank you for your review, I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our newest room 103 and that you have rated our hotel to be the best in Jersey!

Apologies us taking your facecloth on the first day, I hope we were able to locate yours back, as I was not aware of the situation!

It is great to hear that you plan to come back and that you will recommend us.

We hope to see you soon.

We were in Jersey for a family wedding in August and wanted a place where we could be together, relax, have company, and eat in occasionally. We chose Hazel cottage because it had 4 bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom plus a half bath downstairs. We couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay. Truly, it was PERFECT. It was like being at home only better! The rooms were comfortable, good sized and beautifully decorated and everything was immaculate. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glassware, silverware, pots and pans, and utensils which made meal preparation a breeze. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were very appreciated as well. It just seemed like they had thought of everything. Drying rack, highchair, portable crib, ipad station, make-up mirrors, even a storage area for luggage.
My elderly parents stayed in the downstairs bedroom so they did not need to negotiate stairs at all. The crib for our 2 month old grandson was all made up when we arrived and it was just like what we use at home when he visits. Each room having it's own bathroom made getting ready for the wedding and other outtings so nice and easy. We entertained the bridesmaids and other family members several times and we had plenty of room. We especially enjoyed being able to have the French doors open to the patio and lawn where our 4 year old granddaughter could run around and play. We ate several meals out on the patio which has a large metal table and chair set with umbrella, plus loveseat and 2 lounge chairs. I believe the cottages were fully booked while we were at La Place but we hardly ever saw anyone else at the cottage and we never heard any noise from them. Not a peep.
We did enjoy going over at our leisure for the continental breakfast in the morning when we didn't have brunch at our cottage. It was a short walk to the lovely pool which we also used a few times. We did not have dinner at the hotel restaurant but friends staying there did and they told us it was very good.
For us, the location of La Place was just what we wanted. It was in the country so it was quiet and relaxed but still just a short drive to the airport to pick people up, the beach, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, beauty salons and more. We took a walk on the local roads most mornings before breakfast and there was little traffic to worry about.
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and effecient. The hotel and it's grounds were beautifully maintained. I really can't stress enough how wonderful our stay at La Place was and I would highly recommend the cottages or the hotel for visitors to Jersey. We hated to leave at the end of our week stay.

Dear Hyde Family,

What a lovely review, thank you so much for taking out the time to write on trip advisor. We appreciate all feedback, but it is great to get such positive feedback about the cottages. A lot of thought has gone into the design of these and it is lovely to hear that you experienced it to be like home but even better!

Thank you for pointing out the location, and that you enjoyed the quietness of La Place Hotel and Country Cottages.

We hope to welcome you back.
Best wishes,

We recently returned from a ten night stay at La Place, staying there certainly added to the overall enjoyment of our holiday. Our room was spacious and stylish overlooking the pool, the rest of the hotel is beautiful a perfect place to relax, whether that was sitting in the lovely courtyard or by the pool. Our welcome was lovely, such a surprise being greeted with glasses of pink bubbly. The food was delicious from the generous breakfast, to the fabulous quality served up in the restaurant. On several days we ordered room service from the very competitively priced bar menu, again very good. All of the staff were brilliant, they were helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them, a lovely team of people I can't praise them enough. The staff gave us information about travel and places to visit and because the number 9 bus stops right outside the hotel it is worth considering buying a travel pass, we were able to travel right round the Island from the front door saving the hassle of hiring a car. Everyone at La Place goes out of their way to make your holiday special which is marvelous.

As a family of 7, we chose Camellia Cottage for our week stay in Jersey as it is one of the cottages that have 4 bedrooms! Just from looking at the images online before our stay, we were all extremely excited to see our home for the week...And we were right to be excited as when we arrived all of our jaws hit the ground. We were astonished at the decor and spaciousness when we were given the tour of the property. The hotel was equally exceptional and very welcoming. It soon felt like we were home!! During our stay we only had one query with our cottage which was quickly dealt with efficiently. We didn't feel as though we were being a nuisance and nothing was too much trouble.

A couple of days before the holiday we spoke to a lovely representative of the hotel (Stephanie!?) who was more than willing to answer any last minute questions. During this conversation she offered a courtesy pick up from the airport for those travelling by air. The kind gentleman that turned up at the airport was very welcoming and friendly making a great first impression before we had even set foot inside Hotel La Place. While we waited for the rest of our party to arrive by ferry, we were offered complimentary drinks in the bar area...A cup of tea was most definitely required after our early morning start!

We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel every morning which was the most delicious continental breakfast we have ever encountered!! The fresh fruit & bread, yoghurts, cheese, cereal etc were all to high standard and very enjoyable. The waiters/waitresses soon picked up on our habits and quickly brought tea, coffee and toast to the table each morning before we even had to ask for it! On our last evening, we chose to enjoy a family meal at the hotel to end our holiday on a high...and they didn't disappoint! I personally recommend the Atlantic Risotto for starter (YUM!). All of the waiters/waitresses were polite, friendly and very easy to talk to. By the end of the week it felt as though we were part of their family. A special shout out to Dragos, Alariam, Elodie, Numo and all of the others. We could not of asked for better service from them and look forward to hopefully seeing them again!

When the time came to leave, none of us wanted to part with the cottage, hotel and the family atmosphere that all the staff have created. We will definitely be recommending Hotel La Place to family and friends and look forward to returning (fingers crossed!!)

I am really pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast, what a great comment to get, that we served the best continental breakfast you ever encountered! Your special shout out to the restaurant staff has been passed on and it is much appreciated, I have mentioned it a couple of times now, but comments like these, make all the hard work worthwhile!

It was a pleasure having you stay with us and we really hope you are able to come back in the not too distant future.

We cannot thank the staff at Hotel La Place enough for their hospitality. We stayed in the Camelia Cottage for one week and we were amazed by the attention to detail of the property. The whole property is newly built and very modern but most importantly still felt like home. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was always a treat with a large selection of continental options to choose from. We booked a family meal for our last evening and the food was of a very high standard. We intend to go back to this hotel and will recommend to all of our friends.
