“Fantastic location”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

I travel to Jersey a lot and have been taken to the Oyster Box for dinner on a number of occasions. The location is quite outstanding - being situated right on St Brelades beach and the huge glass windows in the main restaurant make you feel as though you are eating on the seashore, whilst remaining snug and warm inside.

The food is lovely, imaginative and delicious. You cannot fault it. It is a real 5* restaurant.

So why 4*s then? Because, the staff are extremely difficult to understand, and not always attentive to the customers' needs. I am not talking about being obsequious here, but this is not a cheap restaurant, so service is important, and it is simply not 5* service. These observations are based on a number of visits and not just one either!

“Absolutely Incredible”
Reviewed December 17, 2013

Amazing food, amazing wine, amazing place.

I do love my seafood and oysters are one of my favourites and so I generally tend to select these more or less anywhere if they are available on the menu. I've had some fantastic oyster dishes in my time but the Oyster Box and just topped them all, I genuinely cannot recommend this place highly enough. My personal recommendation would be the grilled oysters served with diced chorizo - they were actually beautiful!

Really nice atmosphere - somewhere for special occasions but equally to pop in for a coffee or a glass of wine as there is a sofa/seated section by the windows aside from the restaurant seating. Stunning views overlooking the beach. The staff were very good, they were attentive but also allowed you to relax, we were not pestered but they always seemed to appear just at the time we needed something. If you visit Jersey and do not go here then you are missing out.

Just on a side note, as I know not everybody loves seafood, my sister being one of them, there were enough other options on the menu for them to select from.

“Sea views & great food”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Extra marks for atmosphere because of the views. Spent time on the beach before coming here so was ready for a good feed and that's exactly what we got. The local seafood was skilfully prepared and was not overly expensive. Food really good but for me setting is the real star here

“Amazing food, beautiful location”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

The Oyster Box was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at and boy, was it a good recommendation! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was truly excellent. We had a selection of oysters to start and then the seafood stew and haddock for mains. Along with a very nice bottle of wine and beautiful view of the beach, it really was excellent. Occasionally, the service wasn't as quick as we may have hoped, but everyone was so friendly it didn't matter in the overall scheme of things!
