The majority of the staff were very welcoming and helpful albeit one of the bar managers was a Diva and put himself above his Clients.
Location and views fantastic. Food was very good.
Maid room cleaning could be improved.
Not far off an excellent rating and would apply return at a future date.

Just a quick 2 night getaway this time. An efficient, friendly welcome from the staff set the tone of this hotel. Had booked 1 of the 3 garden rooms - beautifully furnished to a high standard & was fully serviced in the time we took to have our breakfast. Enjoyed dinner in Tides the hotel restaurant on our 1st night. The lobster special menu (£28 for 5 courses) was excellent quality & value. Will be returning asap!

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a garden room

Took my Mum for afternoon tea today as a treat. Very friendly welcome and the décor and ambience of the hotel is lovely. Were shown to a table overlooking the bay - wonderful view. Was served a fantastic selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes - yum yum - far too much to eat in one go, so managed to get the leftovers packaged up to take home!!
The waiters were very attentive.
I would definitely recommend this hidden gem to my friends and family and will definitely be going back to the Somerville to sample some of the other things on the menu - we saw them coming out of the kitchen and they looked fab!!!

We have visited Jersey six times over the past 30 years and would not consider staying anywhere other than the Somerville. The hotel enjoys spectacular views over St. Aubin harbour with the sea and St. Helier beyond.Food is excellent but a wide choice of good restaurants is also available around the harbour. Rooms are comfortable and well furnished and the staff helpful, efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

There can't be many better views in Jersey than that from the terrace of the Somerville, especially if having a pre-dinner drink. This was our fourth stay in this hotel and it remains a favourite. We have stayed in the new garden rooms on our last two visits and would highly recommend them, coming with their own patio & garden area. The furnishings are top class, spotlessly clean with excellent housekeeping. The reception staff are terrific - welcoming on arrival and helpful throughout the week. Things didn't always go seamlessly in the restaurant at breakfast but these were minor issues. There are excellent local restaurants which we sampled so we only dined in Tides once but thoroughly enjoyed the Lobster Special menu. St Aubin is a superb destination being on the main bus route to St Helier and the west coast. It is also good walking territory with a pleasant walk along an old railway line which goes to Corbiere
We would highly recommend the hotel and look forward to our next visit..

Room Tip: Garden rooms are the best, but always go for a sea view

I visited with my daughter for a 'girlie break' and we both agreed that Jersey and the Sommerville were a perfect choice. I shall certainly be returning.

The hotel is perfectly positioned above the harbour in the village of St Aubins. It is definitely worth choosing a room with a sea view for beautiful views across the harbour. The hotel is well appointed and the garden/swimming pool area just lovely.

Service is exemplary; nothing seems too much trouble. They are happy to advise on visits and restaurants etc. The food in the hotel is of very good quality. We also enjoyed the live entertainment one evening.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view or try one of the new Garden Rooms.
