Description: Set in the heart of St. Aubin's harbour and run by Damon and Natalie Duffy this very busy local restaurant is a must when visiting Jersey. Loved by the locals and attracting a well-traveled discerning following reservations are a must. The ambiance is modern, stylish yet informal, the food is a splendid example of supreme quality local "Genuine Jersey" produce on an eclectic and extensive menu selection.

“Brilliant seafood!”
Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

An amazing place in St Aubin! Great seafood. The mussels was some of the best I've ever had. I had bass for main and it was equally delicious. Asian flavours are quite prevalent, but everything is tasty. Worth a try!

“Great atmosphere and great food”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We went with friends mid week, and it was already full and buzzing when we arrived. The food was excellent, and clearly the place was full of regulars. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff...it will be one of our regular haunts !!

“Good food, average service”
Reviewed January 11, 2014 via mobile

Limited menu selection, but everything tasted good and was presented well. Very expensive for what it is, a "bistro".
Service was very mixed, we were served by most staff members during the meal and no one really took ownership over our table and as a result it became slow and impersonal.
Would return for the food, not the service.

“A little disappointing”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

We have always enjoyed this restaurant, pleasant surroundings and good friendly staff. However on this occasion we were left wanting. We chose to go for main course and desserts instead of starter and main. We couldn't face three courses so soon after Christmas. The main courses were wonderful, the lobster with spring onions and ginger superb, as were the other three choices. However the desserts left a lot to be desired. Described as the special of the day, the Irish coffee profiteroles turned out to be more shoe than choux, the hazelnut tiramisu more like melted ice cream and the torte was too hard to eat. So disappointing, it hasn't put us off but in future we will stick to starters instead of desserts. As a gesture the desserts were taken off the bill.

I come to Jersey to work every month, and am usually taken out to eat in the evening. Last year I was taken to the Salty Dog and now it has become one of my favourite restaurants. I love it there and have been at least half a dozen times! The setting is lovely, with a great view of the harbour of St Aubin with the boats bobbing about in the harbour and of course (for those of us that are old enough to remember) was the setting for Bergerac's famous TV series! There is a pleasant outside seating area too. Inside the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but does cut out the view. The staff are very friendly, and attentive. The menu is varied and if you happen to go during the Tenner fest is wonderful value for money too. The food is excellent, imaginative and each flavour just bursts in the mouth! Yum yum! I myself am not a wine drinker, but the cocktails are fab and well worth a try! Would recommend the Salty Dog to anyone - a super restaurant!
