A very small but very well run hotel, The hotel has a small pool and a tennis court, as well as a games room so a few things to keep you occupied. The food in the restaurant was very nice. All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and accomadating. The room although small was well laid out, the bathroom looked like it had not long been replaced so very clean. Would definatly stay here again for an overnight, staycation.

Room Tip: Try not to get one overlooking the car park as there was a little noise late at night from cars comi...

On arrival the reception is new, clean and tidy. Receptionist was very helpful.

Our bedroom was past the kitchen door, through untidy hallway, past some fold-away beds and at the end of a corridor. I have been told some rooms have been re-done, others not. I assume we got one that hadn't been modernised.

First appearances seem ok, dated room but looked tidy. Had kettle, modern tv, welcome book. On closer inspection not very clean. Side tables were broken, I moved one and there were diry tissues behind it. when I pulled back the throw, there was a very old grubby blanket, which had many hairs on it, I removed the blanket.

The room was very cold, I turned on the heater which was very noisy. You would think if they had a guest checking in they would turn the heater on before as the room was very cold.

The bathroom was very cold! A very old window let the cold wind whistle through, there was a heated towel rail but no on switch so pointless. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. The shower head was broken so more water went sideways up the wall than on you, and it wasnt powefull at all. There is damp/mould up the wall, and after I had taken a shower, I put the bath matt on the floor, when I picked it up again it was filthy from the dirty lino floor which clearly had not been cleaned. It was on par with some Hostel i Stayed in in Asia which cost about £2 a night!

The tea/coffee facilities were good but you had to move the kettle to the bedside cabinet to boil as there is no plug on the desk. Which was also a pain when it can to using a hairdryer.

The Bar has been re-done, is pleasantly decorated but impracticle. The chairs are lining the room like a waiting room as its a very narrow space. Not a social area.

The food at dinner was good, the staff were helpful but untidy. One waitress has a very creased shirt, not tucked in. Looked like she had rolled out of bed!

I had a crumble for dessert, which I had to ask for hot as apparantly crumble isnt served hot???? But it was burnt (black cripsy ash like) underneath.

The nights sleep wasnt the best, beds are well worn, to soft, and the twin made into a double (not well) kept parting in the night so didnt make for the best nights sleep.

Breakfast was pleasant, lots of choice, cereals, mini pastries, toast, cooked (swimming in grease though).

Overall, even though I stayed as part of a Deal on a voucher site, I would not recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: If you do stay, apparantly some rooms have been updated, request one of those!

First sight of the hotel was not impressive - we wondered what we had let ourselves in for, but having driven in our attitude completely changed.
It is described as a refurbished boutique hotel - not sure what the word boutique is intended to mean, but the refirbishment has been to a very high order. Reception and all public areas are cleand stylish and modern, and welcoming.
Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful and took us to our room, - which was a very pleasant surprise, beautifully decorated, stylish and very clean and comfortable, with all new upmarket furniture.
Bathroom was immaculate, clean, and a pleasure to use. We've stayed in 5 star hotels across the world with worse rooms than this, - only gripe is that room and bathroom were a bit cramped, but easy to forgive this in view of the other plus points.
Breakfast was great - a wide range of cereals, juices, breads, and fruits, plus an extensive hot buffet of good quality of English breakfast food and plentiful supplies of coffee and tea, served by friendly and helpful staff.
We did not eat in at lunch or dinner but if the breakfast is anything to go by, they should be good. Swimming pool area looks well kept and outside gardens well tended.
One word of warning - when the hotel is full car parking can be a challenge, particularly as parking on the road outside id just not possible - having said this, I never failed to park the car in 5 nights stay.
In short, do not hesitate to stay at this hotel, you won't be disipointed. The owners and the management should be proud of themselves for what they have achieved here.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are very handy for the car park and pool as they have glass doors which open out...

Stayed here in august, its under new management compared to a few years back and there is a big improvement. They are trying to make it more of a boutique hotel. The heated pool is lovely, but the best thing is the standard of service which is 10 times better, the dining room staff were great, the reception staff were relaxed and very accommodating, and the manageress deserves a medal.

Really undecided where to go for our annual wedding anniversary break so under pressure from the wife decided on Jersey for our first ever visit . Could not have turned out better . Agree with all reviews about this hotel , great staff , clean bedrooms , owner very helpful with where best to do walks in which we like . But we think the food was highlight of our stay , tried something every night and was never disappointed , very good variety . We find it odd that all guests we met were fabulous to meet and lovely , but why does one lady have to moan about a spiders web near the swimming pool is beyond us , some people hey . Great island with amaazing history and should we visit again will be back here . Good luck to all the staff , you were superb !!

Agreed with previous report ref new manager Heidi. Have used hotel for the past few years this time in August had had a relaxing holiday, good food and helpful bar man had the break ruined by the fact that Heidi could not grasp the fact that a deposit paid should be deducted from the amount outstanding. After a heated discussion we paid the amount that we felt we owed as per her previous written confirmation and she promised to check this was correct. We wrote to the owner with our concerns but 3weeks later are still waiting a reply from either to confirm that we have settled our bill.

We had a very good 5 night stay, staff were very good and friendly always smiling. the barman was very good he always went the extra mile to be helpful and ensure you enjoyed yourself. He was a genuinely nice guy. The restaurant, bar area and reception were very good the food was excellant, We stayed in a ground floor room which was fairly large, clean and comfortable although in need of just a little TLC, but lets face it people you dont go on holiday to spend your time in the room, so as long as its clean and comfortable thats all that really matters. We had clean towels every day which we really appreciate. Breakfast was very good but the evening meals were excellant. We would definately recommend this hotel and hope to go back sometime in the near future.

Room Tip: we had ground floor room by Reception door, had no problem with noise at all.
