Went to a wedding at this mansion/castle. There is a hotel and you can arrange for several activities with a Christian/spritual theme. You can also use Stjärnholm for your company's meetings and conferences.

Breakfast was really tasty and the view from the breakfast room was nice. The surroundings looked picturesque.

Two negatives: 1) Our room was not as clean as I would have preferred. 2) Stjärnholm is a bit hard to find (at least if you come from the south), as the road signs suggest an odd way.

Also, this didn't bother us since our activity was a wedding, but there was no TV in the room, only a really small and badly sounding clock radio.

Room Tip: I think all rooms in the main building are unique, so if you have special requests, ask when booking...

This hotel is situated in a beautiful landscape next to a lake. The room was spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and professional. It's possible to book rooms in the main castle building, in one of the castle wings or in a building approx from the 1970's with three minutes walking from the main building. Buffet breakfast was excellent and in the park around the hotel is a collection of new sculptures. They have fruits, coffee and tea available for the guests during nights. Are you tired of the style of the main hotel chains like Best Western? Book this and you will not get disappointed!

Although it does not live up to the expectations you get from the official photos, it's a very nice and cozy weekend getaway.

This is not your typical hotel, but more of a upscale guest house owned and managed by the Christian Church of Sweden.

My girlfriend and I visited in April 2011 and spent 2 nights here. The place did have a few other guests at the time, but we did not see any of them. We would really have preferred if we had not been completely alone in the restaurant during breakfast in the mornings...it was almost a bit too quiet. We had dinner in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival and we were alone then too, the atmosphere and food was wonderful but there is a weird feeling about being the only guests at a restaurant. Hopefully they have more guests during other parts of the year.

Our room was on the 2nd floor, very romantic and a had a marvelous ocean view. I had brought some chilled Champagne and we had a wonderful time...

A large part of on the 2nd floor facing the front of the building contains a library, a study and other rooms that you can sit down and relax in, read a book and just ponder life in general. A nice touch!

Parking is ample in front, which is good because odds are you come here by car.

I can really recommend this place as a romantic getaway, and we might stay here again, but we would probably visit during June-September instead of April next time.

Room Tip: Pay the extra money for a room in the main mansion building.

Stayed at the Stjärnholmsslott this weekend, as we were looking to spend the weekend around Nyköping. Ca. 15 mins drive from Skavsta airport, the place is called a castle (slott) but the main house is rather a large mansion with a large garden around, plus several other buildings (like the Annex with rooms, but we stayed in a castle room). A friendly lady at the reception, the room was nice and cosy (with sea view), simple but clean bathroom. The food at the restaurant was excellent, good service, too. Just a very peaceful place for a romantic weekend (and probably a conference location during weekdays). Breakfast was very good, too. Really worth it!

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra to get a room in the castle, not the annex. 2nd floor with sea view.
