“An Irish Home from Home”
Reviewed April 13, 2014

A friendly welcome from the O'Briens to their lovely home. Excellent location en route to The Ring of Kerry.

We were set up for the day after a huge Full Irish breakfast after a good night's sleep.

Highly recommend a stay here and also The Mallard Restaurant ten minutes away for dinner.

From our stay here, we easily spent time at the Foynes Flying Boat Museum and Adare Village.
We enjoyed meeting and talking with the the O'Briens. Breakfast in their elegant dining room was a nice start to the day.

We recently stayed with Carmel and Charles, and had a lovely two night stay. Everything was just perfect and I recommend it to anyone. Breakfast was lovely. The best scrambled eggs. The rooms were very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The view from our room was great. Carmel and Charles were both lovely hosts and were also so helpful. We hope to be able to stay there again when we return to Ireland.

This was such a delightful three day stay. Carmel and Charles seemed liked family to us. They were a perfect introduction to Ireland. You could not have better hosts or a nicer place to stay. We arrived three hours earlier than planned and were warmly welcomed by Carmel who ushered us to our room and told to take a nap and she would wake us in two hours! She knew that we were exhausted from our flight. We could never have expected such a caring host. Breakfast, room and location could not have been better. We were given many recommendations and directions and all were perfect for us. They were also very understanding when I left with their key and had to mail it back several days later. The only negative about this experience was the sadness when we had to check out.

We stayed only one night with Carmel and Charlie, but we could have spent a week. Carmel was a lovely hostess, and Charlie was a quick wit who made our breakfast a joy. The room was clean, our son was happy with the wifi, and the house was easy to find, which wasn't always the case on our trip. The only real drawback was that the B&B was not located near things we wanted to see and do. I'll have to research the area more for our next trip, as we want to return to see Carmel & Charlie again.

We stayed at Carmel's B&B for our last night in Ireland, and we had a great picnic in her beautiful garden with lovely weather. She was so nice and kind with us, she brought us some dishes and even glasses for wine ! Bedrooms were very clean and nice, and her irish breakfast really good !!
We passed several B&Bs during our one week's trip, but her B&B was the best among them.
Thanks a lot Carmel, and I hope to see you soon in the near future!
