“So Accomodating!”
Reviewed August 3, 2009

Beautiful accommodations and wonderful service. We told Estelle our schedule ahead of time, and she was ready and waiting for us with some hot tea and apple tart+ice cream. She helped us with our schedule and made us feel so welcome. Also, the breakfast in the morning was fabulous, and it was the only place we found with real coffee in all of Ireland. There's also a sunroom and garden one can sit in. I would highly recommend this place. However, do keep in mind that it is an hour away from Limerick.

The location is quiet and far enough from major centres to get a country feel. The town is quiet with a few pubs and a good take away. The room was spacious, with a good ensuite, the shower was the best we used in Ireland (hot and strong!). There are some good local sights and the 'Ring of Dingle' is acheivable in a day. We also visited the Rock of Cashel and Cahir castle in a single day trip. Estelle is a great host and proveded us with ample local information, plus home made apple pie and coffee on arrival.

My family and i just recently returned from our vacation in ireland. Our two night stay at o Driscolls bed and breakfast was without doubt the most memorable part of our trip. We had originally booked for one night only, but enjoyed it so much that we stayed a second. Estelle is a true professional and it shows, our family room was large, very nicely furnished with a beautiful ensuite bathroom - spotlessly clean! The food was absolutely
delicious!!! There are several very quaint bars and taverns within walking distance, one is just next door! the river shannon was just a stones throw from the b+b with miles and miles of lovely walks, fishing etc. A jewel!!!! Cant wait to go back! 10 out of 10.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast! Estelle anticipated our schedule and had tea and an apple tart ready for us when we checked in! We felt so welcome, and well-taken care of! The house itself is so cheery and is complete with a sun-room! and great garden! Also, the coffee provided with breakfast comes in an actual french press. it's the only "real" coffee we found in Ireland!

Do realize that this Hostel is actually in Tarbert/Glin village - not Limerick.

Spotless, very comfortable room. The best breakfast we had in Ireland, with local foods and Estelle's own preserves. Estelle is very accommodating, and helpful with touring suggestions. Easy day trip to Cliffs of Moher, Aran Islands, and the Burrens via Tarbert ferry. Dingle is also an easy day trip.

O'Driscoll's b&b is probably the best we have stayed in and we got the warmest of welcomes from Estelle, the owner. The accommodation is bright and cheerful, spotlessly clean and has a lovely garden which visitors are welcome to use. The bedrooms are modern and beautifully furnished and our's had a large, new en suite which was great. On arrival, Estelle made us a pot of tea and gave us homemade rhubarb pie and icecream in the garden. She then set a table for us in her breakfast room so that we could eat a Chinese take-away and brought us a jug of water and glasses. Glin itself is a lovely, quiet, traditional Irish village which was a welcome change from our other two destinations, Cork and Galway, which were very busy. The village itself does not have any restaurants but there are some a short drive away. However, it does have two take-aways and lots of characterful pubs. It makes a perfect overnight stop for those touring from Cork to Galway, or vice versa.

  • Liked — it felt good being there
  • Disliked — that we had to leave!

We (3 adults) stayed at O'Driscolls for 2 nights and we were pleasantly surprised. I had booked the B and B via the internet and had expected to be staying closer to Limerick than Glin was as I had googled Limerick and O'Driscolls BnB came up. As it turns out this was an excellent choice and location.
On arrival we were met by Estelle and as we moved our things to our room Estelle made us a cup of tea and cut a piece of warm apple tart (with cream) for us to have as we sat outside and talked with the friendly dog. Estelle provided very good suggestions as to how we should spend our time and as we had arrived late in the afternoon we went for stroll around Glin and the next dat drove in Limerick (Bunratty castle etc.) and came back a different way. Next day caught the ferry at Tarbert so we did not back track much at all on the way to Galway.
Full Irish breakfast served freshly cooked and room was very quite and the one shown on the internet.
Glin is good place to explore the area of Limerick as you are out of main city area and all the associated issues with staying in a city. We were made to feel very welcome and it is easy to see that Estelle has a lot of repeat business and recommendations.
