Just back from a wonderful afternoon at The Wells Spa, Brooklodge. Lovely tranquil surroundings, excellent staff and one of the best massages I have ever had with therapist Ludo. Professional, expert, strong deep tissue, well judged for my threshold for pain! Highly recommended.

This is a stunning location, nestled in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains. We were there as an anniversary party for my parents. The staff were very attentive, and they went out of their way to make the celebration for my parents very special. I would point out however that in our party we did have one diabetic, and for some reason the hotel didn't seem to have any soft drinks that were suitable for diabetics, which was a real shame and meant all they could drink for the best part of the weekend was water, tea and coffee. I would say if anyone one has dietary or medical requirements please don't assume that the hotel caters for you, unless you pre warn them. While there were children at the hotel I wouldn't say that this hotel is child friendly. The restaurant had set menus and didn't cater for them, a seven course menu wouldn't be suitable for a child, with no alternative. I will say that despite the restaurants best efforts, they could only provide smaller adult portions, but realistically how many children will eat herb infused lamb/goat baby potatoes and a minted runner beans with a red wine jus.
The Spa facilities were really impressive, and rightly children aren't allowed to use these, but they have their own pool area. I had a special head, shoulder and neck massage at a guest price. If you’re lucky enough to have time I would highly recommend this and I would make sure to ask if you can for Ludo. Without a doubt one of the best massages I've had to date. He gave the option of hard/soft massage. I choose the former, I will say it felt like there was four people working on my back, neck and shoulders instead of one, by the end of it the knots were gone and I felt like I'd put my body under an intense workout 10 out of 10. My sisters also had massages with Ludo and both said the exact same thing really good masseuse. Thanks again to all the staff, and the strawberry tree.

Room Tip: Any rooms on the even no side are worth a look. I'd stay away from room 35 + as you'll likel...

Attended the wild food masterclass here in September at Brooklodge and thouroughly enjoyed it. The hotel itself was great room was beautiful, spa and treatments were nice an the course was really interesting. The outstanding part of the stay for me without doubt was dinner in the strawberry tree that night. It was the harvest tasting menu and was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. From beginning to end it was unforgettable. Overall we couldn't have been happier with our stay everyone we met was courteous and helpful. What they have managed to create here is really special and something that we should all be supporting!!

We stayed in Brooklodge for one night last week unfortunately we couldn't stay longer as it was fully booked. Our room was really spacious, spotlessly clean and had beautiful views of the gardens. We ate in the Lounge and the Italian and both meals were excellent as was breakfast with a huge range of freshly baked breads and pastries. We can't wait to return.

Just spend the weekend at Brooklodge to celebrate a significant birthday. We ate in the cafe connected to actons bar when we arrived and the food was tasty and good value. We were not really hungry enough for the Italian meal on Friday night but food was nice and fairly traditional. On the Saturday night we had the harvester menu which was really nice and special. The maitre d was excellent and food was great, not what I would have probably chosen but that is what a taster menu is all about! We had heard mixed reviews on the accommodation so chose a duplex suite with the bed and bath upstairs and a nice living space and walk in dressing room and nice modern bathroom downstairs. Our only grumble was we could not open window as there was a sugar bowl with wasp infestation on window ledge. When we arrived in room we had 2 stripy evil guests which were bravely taken care of and housekeeping removed bowl when we highlighted the following morning. Both of us have a wasp phobia and had nightmares the first night. The breakfast selection was good and meat good quality. The thermal suite was good with a nice hot tub outside and a good sized pool with various massage points and relaxation corners. There are also a couple of sauna / aroma rooms so there is enough to spend a morning relaxing. Although there were 2 weddings on while we stayed we did not get pushed aside by the wedding crowd as happens in too many wedding hotels. The function room is in a purpose built hall at the other side of the car park so noise etc kept to a minimum. Overall a great hotel, which would put other similar 5 stars to shame. Not quite at 5 star standard but close! Will definitely return given a chance.

Myself and six female friends stayed in the hotel for one night. We got an excellent deal which included dinner in the Italian restaurant which is on site. This is an excellent venue for a group of women or for a romantic weekend for a couple. The whole experience was positive from beginning to end. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our bedrooms were quite large and very tastefully decorated. We were provided with robes and slippers which we used to go down the back stairs to the Spa area which was excellent. After having facials or massages we used the pool area which had a sauna, jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub.

The food was excellent in the Italian restaurant and afterwards we retired for a drink in the hotel bar which was very comfy and relaxing. Choice for breakfast was excellent. The grounds are beautiful to walk around with chickens wandering around and a duck pond.

This hotel is really a great place to chill and relax in and I will be definitely be returning for a weekend with my husband in the near future.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem to be of a high standard.
