I was on a course from work & stayed here for 6 nights with good food, good views, good service & all in a lovely setting. If I were to find any fault it would be with the decor in the bathroom, wi-fi included here & two choices as to where we wanted to eat. The Bar restaurant gave superb quality & quantity food & there is no way you could leave here hungry, it was a little slower with service than the one on the first floor which also had the more scenic views. The food here is a bit more up market & the choice of meals was very good also.

Lovely Hotel, really enjoyed the swimming pool. The gardens and beautiful woodland walks a real bonus. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely come here again!

Checked into the hotel after booking it at least minute. They put us in a very small room only fit for two people and with no view. But I went down to tell them the room was too small for a family of four and they noticed there was a mistake on their side with the booking and we were upgraded to the presidential suite which the kids loved especially the jacuzzi and all the room to play hide and see,. The pool area is great for kids not so great for adults to have a comfortable swim. The staff were helpful. The restaurant was nice but the steak is not worth the supplement .

Room Tip: Try to get one on the front because the back has no view

Just back in Cork after a 3 night break in this hotel with my fiance. Our room was on the ground floor 120 which I would not recommend if you were out all day trekking and hoping for a good nights sleep. Everynight we were awoken to a staff member making noises outside the door as they were putting away ware and cutlery into the room across the corridor. As for the room itself was very small, bathroom sink cracked and floor in toilet very dirty and stained with what looks like false tan, a bit of parazone would fix the problem. The hotel was also very cold with the heating on a timer. The only great thing we found with this hotel was the Staff in the conservatory bar were outstanding. We ate here for the 3 nights and the chef was amazing.

Find it very dificult to find fault - unusual for me(us). Lovely spacious room with a view down the glen, proper bath, good TV - no faffle WiFi. Staff welcoming, polite and helpful throughout. Tiny caveat is very low musak at breakfast - so low it was almost absent - which would have been better IMHO. Looking out at restful greenery over a good breakfast is not enhanced by a mental game of "what the hell tune is that ?" So I'll take earplugs next time - and I very much want there to be a next time. Big Plus - no music in the lift and no silly voice explaining that the sudden brightness is caused by "doors opening". very very good hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor with a view - politely. Lower floors have bigger windows - if you want a bigger...

Just back in the UK after a 3 day stay at The Glenview with our elderly mum.(stayed here last year and returned as she loved it). We stayed in the two suites overlooking The Glen. The rooms are fabulous (only one critism, headboard grubby and needs replacing) The hotel was very busy while we were there, yet we were not disturbed at all by the noise, as these rooms have a little hall area and double doors. The staff are all very friendly, Stacy has to get a special mention as my mum was ill and she was very helpful. We had a lunch for six of us in a stunning room called The Library and were looked after very well by Sabine. the only suggestion I have to make is that regular sandwiches be added to the room service menu, all the items on offer tend to be large platters, plain ham or chicken sandwiches are always a winner. During this visit I made myself known to Brian, the excellent manager, having stayed there last year also, he greeted me graciously but I dont think he had a clue who I was! Over the years my family and extended family have had many celebrations here, weddings, anniversarys, communions 80th birthdays and even a funeral, we have never yetr been disappointed. hopefully, we will be back next year

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra and stay in one of the 2 suites, with the balconies, overlooking the Glen at the fro...

We like the Glenview, though it could do with some TLC - some of the corridor carpets are frayed and the paintwork in the bathroom cracked. But the ambience suits us and the staff friendly. The price can be high but you can always get a good 3 nights deal.

Always ask for a room facing down the Glen for a spectacular view - not so good from the back rooms. Quality of the food is variable for a 4* hotel. An attraction is the swimming pool - going for a warm swim before breakfast or dinner is always good. And you can walk up the steep hill at the back of the hotel and climb the Sugarloaf - or cheat and drive up to the carpark before attempting the final climb to the top.

And we love watching the multitude of guests who come for a wedding, christening, first communion, family get together, receptions, mainly at the weekends. They generate a great atmosphere in the hotel. That's why we keep going back and stay at the Glenview for a few nights whenever we're in Ireland.

Room Tip: Always ask for a room facing down the Glen (I think they have even numbers)- stunning view.
