Glenview Hotel

This was my second visit to the Glenview Hotel and Leisure centre in as many years and I was delighted to find that the high standard experienced on my first visit was still present. From the time I entered the hotel at 11.30 a.m. (well before the normal checking in time) I felt my comfort mattered to all the staff. Early access to our room was no problem at all. The lunch we enjoyed in the bar was all the more enjoyable by the attentive and friendly staff. Over the next two days we thoroughly enjoyed good food, great service and a friendly atmosphere that this hotel should cherish and maintain. Equally enjoyable was the leisure centre that we used as much as we could considering the beautiful walks that can be enjoyed nearby. Well done all the staff of the Glenview.

We stayed here on the 13th October 2012 and had a lovely time our room 302 was really nice and had a lovely view of the mountains we had dinner in the resturant that night and the food was beautiful and the service was fantastic.
The staff work really hard and would do anything to help you we really enjoyed our stay.
There is beaufiful gardens to walk around and relax in and if it is dry a nice quite foresty walk.
A big thank you to all the staff of the glenview for everything.

Drafts everywhere in the hotel, windows not sealed and heating not turned on before arrival and no heating in the morning. for a 4star hotel not to have proper heating is beyond a joke. The service of the staff was good and they tried to help as much as possible, buttom line really is that it was too cold and rooms a bit basic compaired to what they sell it as.

Currently in the glenview so decided to write this off their WiFi to try get some value for money! Certainly not worth the price they charge how they got 4 stars in beyond me! Staff don't seem approachable or interested in working here. Situated a stones throw away from the busy n11 I fear I won't be able to sleep without the sound of large volumes of traffic passing my window from now on. The rooms although clean enough are very shabby, cracked sink in the bathroom, the bath leaks onto the floor the walls are marked and chipped all over and the seats seem to be covered in stains of some sorts, I dread to think what! Pictures on the walls are not hung right although they do over a better view than the one out the window I'd seen enough road on the journey up! Finally when it came to filling out the comment card I found that there is no pen to fill it out with. Won't be back again have stayed in much nicer better situated hotels for a lot lot less.

We brought our two grandchildren to the Glenview for a short break in August before school commenced. They loved it, they enjoyed the pool and the 'kid's club. We drove to Greystones and took the 'Dart' to Bray for a day.
The room was average and a camp bed was set up for our 4year old granddaughter but she loved it.I wasn't enamoured with the set up of the bar, a bit too open plan and more like a cafe.
The food was delicious in the restaurant. Had to queue up for breakfast, not enough tables for all the residents but the staff were pleasant, friendly and very hard working.
All in all we had a lovely break in a lovely hotel.
The surroundings and the view from the Hotel were outstanding.

Room Tip: A room at the front facing the 'Glen' would be perfect.

Went for the wife's birthday last year. We got a deal for one nights bed and breakfast and a sit down meal in the Woodlands Restaurant. The food was top notch. We loved the bar, it had a relaxed atmosphere which is what we were after. The room was huge and very clean, can't fault the place. We'll be going back this year.

Recently stayed at the Glenview we had booked a bargain break so came with an open mind. We had a very enjoyable stay the staff were wonderful friendly courteous and very helpful, We had dinner on both nights and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were offered more veg which we did not need but thought it was a nice touch. The room was spotless and spacious and we had a wonderful view of the garden and glen of the downs. Breakfast was the normal buffet fare but any special requests were catered for by a very obliging staff. We would recommend this hotel and hope to return ourselves.

Room Tip: Ask for garden facing room fab view
