Found Mobarnane on Hidden Ireland website. There is always a risk that an up market B&B has its own opinion of what visitors want. Clearly Richard and Sandra have no such preconceptions. They start with an elegant Geogian house, provide super soft beds, with real central heat and unlimited hot water - apparently not the case in a number of houses in Ireland this winter - and then feed you like royalty. It helps that Richard would put many professional chefs to shame, particularly with his use of local produce. And he even had my particular type of porridge oats available for breakfast.
They are always checking, unobtrusively, that they are not taking you for granted, so you tend to feel you are their 'special' guests. Obviously you are not, because I would think they treat everyone the same.
The next time, having scoped the obvious local attractions, we would have no compunction in emailing ahead and asking them for new and perhaps non-touristy things to do. A great stay.
