This was a very nice b & b, Anne is a very good host, after not being able to find her home we called and she met us at a local convenience store. After we checked in she gave us a tip on a pub where we could go listen to some Irish music and see some traditional dancing. The room was clean an comfortable and breakfast was very good, our only complaint is that we thought it was a little cluttered, but overall very good.

The whole experience of staying at the Whitethorn Lodge is fantastic. Our hostess, Ann, is lovely and couldn't do more to make our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying the Ballina area.

We've stayed in many b&b's over the years and Whitethorn Lodge is really one of the best we have had the pleasure to visit. The rooms are a great size, clean and very comfortable. Anne is very welcoming and only too happy to help with anything we needed. The breaskfast menu is excellent and we were very pleased with the full Irish we ordered...very tasty!

We recently spent a week at Whitethorn Lodge on a cousin's recommendation & it lived up to expectations and more. Having just left very disappointing accomodation in Dublin, it was a real treat and Anne looked after us like we were family. Genealogy was the purpose of my visit and whenever she could Anne offered help with my research, even to the point of inviting a cousin to meet us there, in her sitting room. And as an added bonus, she offered to do our laundry, very much appreciated by two senior Australian travellers. Our room was large and confortable, the beds good and the breakfasts superb. I would certainly recommend this B&B to any of our friends who wanted to enjoy this beautiful & historically interesting area of Ireland.

Togehter with friends I stayed for two nights at Whitethorn Lodge in Ballina. Anne gave us a very warm welcome, that we felt immediately like at home. The rooms are large and comfortable equipped. Anne offers a large breakfast-menu, even with salmon. The centres of Ballina and Killaloe with restaurants, pubs and shops can be reached within a 15 minutes walk. I can only recommend this B&B to everybody, who wants to visit the Shannon region.
