As a previous review stated, the food in the bar/restaurant was average - AT BEST!!!

The guy who takes the bill payment (cashier desk) on the way out, had tried to rip-off the lady in front of us, by giving her a rate of 1 euro to £1, only when she complained he said he would give her a little more. He then tried to convert our bill to sterling, even though we stated that we wanted thecard amount debited in euro - I think this is a little means of more profit they have running.

Avoid for food if you can hold off until Sligo or Ballyshannon!

Dear Reviewer,

We offer a bureau de change facility located at the reception of the hotel and advise customers to use this facility.
With regard to your comment on your debit card payment - The PDQ terminal gives a choice of currency payment depending on your card issuer - It is your choice to accept or decline the conversion rate when it appears on the screen before you enter your pin.

We were two couples who stayed in two lovely rooms with probably the most beautiful hotel room views I have ever enjoyed. Mullaghmore is a stunningly beautiful and peaceful place to visit and the Pier Head Hotel does not let it down. The staff could not have been more helpful and courteous. This establishment is making a real effort to offer truely exceptional value for money in difficult times, and I think they are to be applauded for their efforts.
This is a small hotel making a big effort. I can't wait to go back. I just hope they have a room to spare.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights B&B + 1 dinner (99 euro per person sharing), which was excellent value for money. The location was perfect and the staff were so nice and friendly. However, as there was nowhere else to eat in Mullaghmore, we were tied to this hotel and the cost of the food inside the bar was expensive and the food was only average at best. And a 3 course meal inside the restaurant was €35, which is way overpriced for the standard of food, and we're not talking anywhere near Michelin Star quality here! All in all, a lovely hotel with great facilities, just don't go there for the food!

Stayed here midweek for three nights, b&b and one dinner. Very friendly staff, room was small and over front entrance, so at night it was quite noisy, very poor quality of windows and walls very thin....this is not the hotels fault, just bad builders!!
Breakfast was very very good and fresh. Beautiful view of the coast. The windows could do with a clean every second day, as the view is the selling point of the place.Saw a waiter one morning with a spray bottle and small cloth 'spot' cleaning on the outside of the windows, made no difference. Dinner was nice, all served with a lovely smile from our waitress, who was very nice.
We had a look at the pool and hot tub but never used it. Great place for young families to enjoy.
We were glad we stayed midweek, as it must be very busy on weekends. We tried the bar food one night, it was very good.
It was great value for the money. I have stayed in 5 star hotels, but staff were never as nice as here. There are lots of places to see, if you have a car if not walks are amazing.
I would go back but as I have said either midweek in busy times or off peak in winter.

Just spent Easter weekend at this hotel in Mullaghmore was just absolutely fabulous - upon arrival reception staff extremely friendly and welcoming - Grainne in particular had great knowledge of local area. Bar staff very efficient, even although the bar was busy most definitely on the ball with customer service. Rooms were a bit small but hey what do you want a bed and a shower!!! A MUST IS THE ROOF TOP HOT TUB - with splendid views of the bay and the salt spray coming from the sea you would be mistaken for being on a foreign holiday. Definitely well worth a visit, good value for money break!!
