The beach hotel has it all, amazing sea front location with unrivalled views of Ben Bulben, great food and entertainment with extreamly comfortable beds, all at a really reasionable price. Paddy and Louise make you feel as if your coming home, it's Irish hospitality at its best. The bar during the day is bustling with walkers, hikers and locals having some lunch or a drink all while looking across the harbour. The bar a night comes alive especially on a Sunday night as there is a live band, however it has been known to, on occasion, host an impromptu sing song any other night of the week!!

Dinner in the restaurant is amazing and they are happy to accommodate even the most fussy eater. The full Irish for breakfast is the perfect way to start the day before walking the head. They also offer fresh macckeral on the menu which amazingly is a first in the village and I can't recommend it highly enough. I now no longer have to head out and catch my own to BBQ, it's great!!

All in all its my favourite place to stay on the West Coast. I urge anyone thinking of going to Sligo to stay in the Beach Hotel you won't regret it. I now go at least one weekend of every month, it's the perfect get away after a stressful week in the office.

Well done guys, hope to see you soon xxx

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room, you won't be disappointed, also if travelling with your family the family room has a jacuzzi bath!!

had a one night stay with my elderly less able mother. Although no lift available, staff were very helpful on phone and arranged a room which would best suit our needs, incorporating our wish for a harbour view. When arriving the staff were just as friendly and helpful. All was clean and tidy..a few cracked tiles in the bathroom but the view and cosyness of the room made us feel very comfortable. Unfortunately, noisy couple in room above but that was just one of those things! Breakfast was great. We didn't eat any other meals there so can't comment. the village is really tranquil and pretty. A lovely clean white strand a short walk from the hotel. lots of amazing views from the cliff top walks. Want to go back!

Room Tip: Ring to book and say what you would like.

Myself and my family stopped at the Beach Hotel, Mullaghmore, for a bite to eat last night (1st Sept 2012). With a nice harbour view appointment, we thought it looked ideal, and although not the only eatery in the area we thought we would give it a try.
We ordered our food just after 7.30pm, and although the starter (lobster) took well over half an hour, when it came it was tasty...
However we then waited well over over an hour for fish, chicken goujons, and a steak sandwich, and when it came the steak sandwich was a soggy mess of mango saturated nan bread, very grizzly, chewy SIRLOIN steak (according to the menu), and doused in chips, with a little salad.
The chicken goujons were overcooked and dried out.
The main courses were simply poor and not helped by a service which took over 1 and a half hours to serve 2 courses!! (We were served the main courses at 9.10pm)!
It was a Saturday night and although there were some people in the restaurant, some eating or just drinking, it was by no means busy!
Adequate staffing levels and communication between kitchen and serving staff is a vital role for the manager, who was in the restaurant!
No wonder the place is up for sale...
