“Excellent Hotel for Business Customers”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

I have stayed at this hotel over 100 nights in the last year...I have had nothing but great stays, friendly staff and good food. It is well situated and has good facilities. They treat all guests very well, but I have been impressed with the treatement as a loyal customer in terms of reservations and flexibility during my stay.

Stayed here for a few days at end of July. First impressions are fresh, friendly and clean. Also very wheelchair friendly. The rooms are clean and quite spacious.Sadly weather cant be guaranteed in sligo as there are lovely views at the rear of hotel. The bar food is lovely and menu is flexible but you need to get in early at evening time as it fills up very quickly. We will be back again.

We came for a long weekend with intention to do some outdoor and watersports activities. The weather wasn't great for that so we spent more time in a hotel than we intended to.
Our room was clean and tidy with lots of space.Coffee maker was a nice extra.
I didn't rate it with highest score because the room was very very hot (it wasn't due to hit weather outside)and the air conditioner was really noisy,so neither of us got a good nights sleep.
Other than that there was nothing else we did not like.
PS-the bar lunch was really nice and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

Travelling as a single on a group tour I was given a large well decorated room with good amenities and a very comfortable Kingsize bed A small seating area also in an air-conditioned the room, ironing dock, together with tea making facilities and a refrig. A refrig and air con are both unusual in rooms in the UK as is a good sized bathroom which this hotel had. Free wifi was available in guest roons. Friendly staff. Wake up call received.
Very nice comfortable hotel situated out of the main town area. Tour dinner provided in restaurant with good choices for each course.
Breakfast was a full buffet with plenty of choice with Tea and coffee served to table. In room safe.
Ticked all my boxes.
Make sure you travel up the road a bit to Harry’s Pub – a fantastic little Inn with heaps of memorabilia in the pub all with a story. Definitely worth a visit and drink.

I stayed here whilst on business in area.
Beautiful views from hotel and up to Rosses Point.
Hotel looks like it has lots of bits added onto it - and my room was dark as window was blocked by a roof - so no nice view for me!!
Wireless internet would not work either day I was there - on my or my colleague's laptops which was really disappointing.
Highlight of my stay was dinner - service was excellent and food was beautifully cooked and a very high standard. I had fillet steak which was tender and flavoursome. Before this I had a freeAmuse Boucher of Salmon tart and a sorbet.
Breakfast is very busy here from 9- 10 so go earlier but food was good and there was a great selection.
I would have scored this hotel higher except for the dark room and lack of internet.
Quite noisy in public area as lots of families with small children.

Room Tip: Ask for room at front

Dear Sharon W,

Thank you for choosing to visit us while on business in Sligo and for taking the time to provide a review of your experience with our hotel.

I am most pleased to see that you enjoyed our location and I hope that overall you had an enjoyable visit to Sligo. Your positive feedback is most welcome and is also very encouraging for our kitchen and restaurant teams. I am delighted to read that the highlight of your stay was your evening meal in the Classiebawn Restaurant and that the quality of the food was complimented by excellent service.

I am extremely sorry that our wireless internet would not work during your stay. Our internet provider bitbuzz recently experienced a serious technical issue with their own server, which had a knock on effect for all their customers throughout Ireland, and this issue took five days for bitbuzz to fully resolve. Your visit may have taken place when we were experiencing these issues and just to note we do have 24 hour customer support from bitbuzz whereby any technical issues can be addressed by bitbuzz support team.

I would like to apologise that your view from your bedroom was obscured and while the majority of our bedrooms have beautiful views over Sligo bay or Benbulben mountains we do have a small number of bedrooms whereby the view is obscured. If you do plan to return to the hotel please do request a room with a view of the bay or mountains and we will certainly organise this for you.

Thank you again and hopefully we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again at some stage in the future.

Kind regards,

Seamus Preston

We stayed here for 2 nights . It was beautiful. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms perfect and very cosy. Breakfast self help but it was lovley you could have all you want to set you up for the day. The evening meal was beautiful , was sorry that we only had one meal there the next time we would eat in restaurant all the time. Would go back again tomorrow if I could !
