Thus a good Radisson Hotel, clean efficient etc. However the restaurant is absolutely fab, the food is superb and created with a real passion for quality and perfection, every dish was perfect and just delicious. Service is very professional and friendly. Bar is big and busy and food looked good. Rooms are a good size clean with usual stuff for 4 star. Overall, good hotel and absloutely great restaurant.

My husband and I had a very good time at the Radisson. The Hotel was very clean and the service was excellent. We will be back again and have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel. The Hotel is rated as a four star but I think it should be 5 star

Spa, gym and pool where very clean and all equipment was in best condition. Had all our meals here, Restaurant and bar food excellent and reasonably priced. Excellent Service across the board with a special word of praise to Tomasz at reception & Caine in the bar. Very Impressed by the team ethos, efficient, friendly and genuine welcoming attitude displayed by all staff. Thanks, We will be back and will recommend highly to others.

I attended a conference at this hotel in late Febuary 2013.
Check-in moved relatively quick considering the size of the queue on arrival, with bus loads of people all arriving at nearly the same time.
I had dinner in the bar the night we arrived. It was packed (over 300 people attended the conference) but the waiter was over quickly, was very personable, and unflustered despite the large crowd. He advised us that our steak sandwiches would take longer than usual due to the crowd but in fairness the food was out fairly quick.
The banquet was very nice. The room was laid out beautifully, plenty of room to move around and a large dance floor. The service here wasn't as good as it should be. As said in another comment one person at my table got his meal so far ahead of the rest of us that he was finished before we had even gotten ours. It seemed to me (I was across the table from him so could see him) that the waiter lost track of where he should be going after finishing one table and so just gave the plate to the nearest person just to get rid of it.
Given the location of the hotel and the size of the function I was very surprised to find out that cash back was not an option at the bar. Regardless of convience to the customer, it makes the bar staff's job easier by not having to deal with cards every transaction.
Bar staff worked well, although the busy bar does not excuse any lack of manner's. However same should be said to many of the customers too. All the bar staff deserve praise for their work throughout the weekend. I found that when they had opportunity they were very personable and chatted to the customers. The main example of this is the barman in the second bar in the function room (his name escapes me now). I would judge the bar staff by this example rather than by those who were rushed off their feet.
The receptionist (duty manager perhaps?) on the Friday night however let the side down I felt. I went up to the desk to ask for a new key as I had lost mine. After he dealt with the person in front of me, he then went into discussion with another member of staff (not a personal one, it must be said), and took a phone call before asking getting to me. While I know it was a busy night, from experience I know most receptionists and managers would (should?) deal with the customer in front of them first, then the member of staff after.
Overall I had a lovely time in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo. I did have a few complaints but I would put them down to the fact that the hotel was over-ran with hundreds of young people for that weekend and so were under-pressure.

Nestled at the heart of Mount Benbulben, The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa has one of the most envious locations in Ireland. Perched upon a hilltop facing eastwards, the hotel is overshadowed by one of the most spectacular sights to awaken to in any hotel in the world (provided you have a westward facing room). While mother nature dominates the exterior view from the hotel, a tasteful decor envelop's the guest upon arrival and throughout.

Some of the in room facilities however were not up standard. The television was not working when I arrived, however it later transpired that a loose aerial at the rear of the set was the cause. The faulty electrics continued through the bedroom into the bathroom where the hairdryer failed to fire.

I spent two nights at the hotel and found that Sligo town was relatively accessible from Rosses Point though not by foot. Unfortunately the Radisson does not offer any cash or cash back facilities which is more than a little annoying if one does not drive. On the food front, I ate four times in the three days I was at the hotel, two of those times being breakfast. As hotel buffet breakfasts go, this was above average. The waiting staff were attentative and were happy to accomodate requests of newspapers and extra teas and coffees.

I made use of the room service facility but found it far too expensive to be justifiable. The Benwisken burger and string chips priced at E12.95 + E4 for delivery ends up being around E20 as one feels obliged to tip. Though the quality of the burger was good, the string chips were cooling rapidly (probably as the plate was stone cold). It is also worth noting that it took an hour and five minutes for this disappointment to arrive.

The fourth time I ate in the hotel was at a banquet. My expectations were set quiet low to begin with as to cater for several hundred people is next to impossible without comprimising on quality. I am glad to say however that my expectations were greatly surpassed. The wait staff did there best to serve everyone in a timely fashion and the food was quite good for restaurant food, let alone for a gala of 300. The event staff were fantastic throughout the weekend and accomodate our every request to make the best of our confrence weekend.

I have, as with most of my reviews, saved the worst for last; The bar staff. I work in the industry myself and I genuinely find it difficult to criticise anyone working in this difficult position. I realise it is difficult to deal with customers in an attentive fashion when it is three deep at the bar, however I fail to accept that when taking E5 for a pint of Heineken from a customeer should a member of staff ever fail to say 'Please and Thank You'. Not ONCE throughout the weekend did I hear Caine utter these words in the main bar and it is so utterly frustrating to see someone who's work is otherwise acceptable fall down on such a simple thing. This is in complete contrast with Ciaran who is a consumate professional, busying himself when things were slack and always had the time to be personable during the bars busiest periods.

So there it is. The Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo. Fabulous surroundings but so hit and miss that it nearly seems preferable to stay in the town centre and travel to Mount Benbulben for that incompareable view.

Room Tip: Room 337 is a large suite, suitable for families, situated at the rear of the hotel and is fantastic...

Spent a weekend in the hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were all very friendly and a particular mention to Rachel in the spa for making our visit so enjoyable. The only downside was on the morning of departure, I dropped my pen and was on the floor to see if it had rolled under the bed when I saw either a sock or mens underwear lying there. Obviously the cleaners don't vacuum under the edges of the bed too often!!

The Radisson Blu hotel is located on the Ballincar Road about 3 miles outside Sligo town. The hotel boasts 132 rooms; standard, business class and a suite. The main selling point seems to be a spa and conference centre. I stayed at the hotel for two nights while attending a conference in late February 2013.

Reservation and check-in were efficient, although the hotel was unable to accommodate a small request.

I was allocated a standard room on the second floor, the room was warm, clean and reasonably spacious. The room came with air conditioning, free wi-fi, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and an old style 21” television.

Unfortunately the room overlooked a black slate apex roof which blocked any view of the beautiful countryside – very disappointing in a purpose build rural hotel. The area between the window and the apex roof was covered with cigarette stubs and a few bags of rubbish. Pictures attached. Needless to say I closed the curtains for the duration of my stay.

Food at the hotel was good with reasonably efficient service. Complimentary news papers in the lobby were also a nice touch. Didn’t have the opportunity to visit the spa or pool but my colleagues used them and found them good.

Would have given the hotel a four star rating but the room view really let them down so awarding two stars.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a room with a view if you don’t like looking at slate roofs.
