“Not Great!”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

Myself and my husband stayed here for a weekend in October. On arival we met a very unfriendly receptionist who barley spoke to us but simply handed us the key and rattled off times for food etc, just nothing friendly or welcoming about her at all. Our room was nice but the carpet and chairs were badly stained. On a positive note breakfast was really nice both mornings with plenty of choice. We decided to eat in the resturant on the Saturday night and it was just terrible. Our starter was pork pieces which was basically just fat on the plate, our main course was cold so we decided agaisnt dessert! The bar was fine but no atmosphere at all, having some music, even background music would help intice people to stay in the bar for the evening.
The leisure centre is lovely and clean which we both enjoyed but unfortunately we would not return to this hotel!

Stayed here rescently for one night got a very good rate over phone. Room was spacious and nice view of the bay, bed was very comfortable definatly the most comfortable hotel bed i have ever slept in! Fridge in our room which was very handy but could have done with a good cleaning-some mould on shelves.Barfood menu has great choice of dishes and is very reasonably priced. bar lacked atmosphere-tables far too close together for comfort. breakfast was good, great selection of breads, cereals, juices etc. Didnt have time to use the spa but it looked fabulous and had great offers on for guests. Overall would return to the hotel again-enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in this hotel recently with a large group. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and efficient, food was good and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. It is too far outside Sligo to walk to town but there is a very nice spa and leisure centre and the views of the mountains are stunning. Just one quibble. Room 357 in which we stayed is directly over the function room so you won't get much sleep before 2am if there is party or wedding going on.

Room Tip: as I said, avoid the rooms over the function room

Had a lovely time, staff are very friendly and very welcoming
rooms are a nice size with tv that has a good few stations and the beds are amazing and the size of two singles together the only down fall I had was a few cleaning issues nothing major and there a few stains on the carpets and curtains but this by no means affected our stay. pool area is brill spent at least two hours down there its a heated pool, jacuzzi was nice when we eventually got a go (alot of other people using it) outside hot tub wasnt in action would have liked to have seen it.
Breakfast we also lovely a great spread of food and the staff were very attentive would like to say i will definitely be back in the near future.

apart from Tim,found desk staff very unfriendly and rude.food is only mediocre as is breakfast and rooms very inconsistent.i have stayed a couple of times, first time got room 102 which has special needs disability shower complete with plastic seat and armrest.!!!last visit was on top floor and the room was far superior, spotless but noise from ballroom could be heard despite fastening windows. The beds however at this hotel are exceptionally comfortable, best i have ever encountered.Respa,i checked because i slept so well.the pool is ok,bit chilly at times and steam room was out of order, but the spa is well worth a visit and has fantastic euclyptis steam room, sauna and foot spa and gorgeous relaxation room.overall good value for money, with nice lobby, however the grubby stair carpets let this hotel down and staff need retraining

Room Tip: any apart from 102,unless you are wheelchair bound..i asked for a view but got one over looking a ca...

Bit disappointed overall, expected more from a Radisson Blu . Lady on reception who checked us in was very cold , abrupt and not at all friendly . It wasn't busy so it wasn't as if she was stressed or under pressure. Found the bar cold and uninviting also , too many tables n chairs , nowhere to lounge in comfy sofas, no fire or ambience at all about the place. The Restaurant was a little more modern but also lacked any intimacy. Cold and uninviting . My husband and I were put on a table in middle of the floor for dinner, even though we had booked a table early in the day and assumed as they knew it was a couple they might give us a nicer spot . On the upside, the food was delicious . Our Steaks were cooked to perfection and wine and deserts wonderful. The Breakfasts were really good, a great selection of everything and piping hot. If a bit of thought was put into making the place more cosy and inviting it would make a huge difference , a few open fires , comfy sofas and soft furnishings are badly needed..........
