Had a lovely recent stay in The Lodge at Castle Leslie. On arrival we had great food in Conors Bar on Friday night along with our pint of guinesss as part of our St Patricks Day package. We took a long walk around the estate on Saturday and then spent the afternoon in the Spa...best massage I have had ever! On Saturday night we ate in the restaurant and the food was really tasty.

Although we walked up past the Castle we did not venture in. We were really happy with the Lodge, we booked a superior room which was large, modern and really comfortable room, with balcony overlooking the equestrian centre - I think the Lodge is a nice balance of staying somewhere that has the luxuries of a modern hotel but with the great character and access to the old estate.

My only complaint would be that the service at Breakfast was really slow on Saturday morning and then was changed to a buffet only on Sunday which was disappointing.

Overall though we will definitely be back as this place is the perfect easy escape and worth every penny.

The service in this hotel is the worst I have ever experienced. The Castle is dirty, musty and seriously lacking in facilities (e.g. our hotel room did not have a shower, but rather a filthy cast iron bath and a bucket beside it. The food is terrible, limited in choice, and over-priced. There are no TV's in the rooms in the castle, and the TV's in the Lodge bedrooms don't work properly. The "Spa" is a glorified beauty salon that is again over-priced. The location of the hotel is nice in that the grounds surrounding it are very picturesque, but there are plenty of good hotels around so don't waste your money going here

Went with a bridal party for weekend, stayed at one of the houses in the grounds. It was pure luxury. Had dinner at the Castle which was absolutly mouth watering. Couldn't fault the meal or service in anyway. Toured castle and grounds next day, met the owner who was so welcoming and friendly. Finished off at the spa for the best massage I have ever had.

We stayed in the Castle. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming. The castle is a lovely old place and we had the choice of two rooms. It's quite quirky. We had dinner in the castle and it was superb. Definitely will be going back.

I have just returned from spending a weekend at Castle Leslie with some friends. And what a wonderful weekend we had. In the dark on Friday evening the castle was a little
hard to find - but well worth the drive. Its old style comfort with lots of little rooms to relax and enjoy the surroundings. On the Friday evening we ate in the bar in the long room area. The food was fine. Nothing very amazing but nothing bad either. We stayed in Lionels room and the Nursery. The absense of a tv, phone and all the other things you
come to expect in a hotel was different - but nice. Both rooms had a half tub shower so
that was a little challenging. The water temperature was also a little inconsistent. On Saturday we walked around the grounds of the hotel and then went to the spa at the lodge. I had a facial and manicure with Lorraine and I can honestly say it was the best
facial I have ever had. Its not cheap but very worth it. That night we ate in the hotel
restaurant. The food was very good. The wine list a little short and the waiters very eager in topping up your wine glass. We finished the evening by retiring to the cinema
room and relaxing on the leather recliners to watch a film. The breakfast was good in
the morning and served until 11am so nice for those that want a lie in. Sir Leslie gave a
tour of the castle on Sunday which was very interesting.
Would I go back - absolutely. The hotel is old style luxury. The staff were very attentive.
Special mention for Rebecca who could not do enough to help in whatever request you
had - be it help one of our group who got lost on the way to personally escorting us to the
cinema and setting things up. The only down side - the heat in the bedrooms. It was so
hot - and as one who loves hot rooms, I never usually have this complaint. We had the
heat in the room turned off but still the rooms were too hot. The window was left open for
most of our stay.
