My husband and I spend a couple of nights in Castle Leslie each year away to re-charge our batteries and our recent stay in September in the 'Eagles Nest' was our loveliest yet. What makes Castle Leslie really special for me is the lovely people and horses at the equestrian centre. Calm, professional, courteous and friendly staff, well looked after horses in the cleanest yard you can find, beautiful grounds and a large indoor arena. What more can you want? Thank you for making my stay special and an even bigger thank you for letting me ride Squire.

The Castle itself is one place everyone should visit overnight at least once in their life. It is a wholly unique experience. We had already been several times for afternoon tea, a meal etc but a few nights visit is entirely a different thing altogether. From SIr Jack in the dining room for breakfast in his dressing gown to the ancient toilets. We had a bedroom with a view over the lake, an extremely comfortable bed, our bed turned down for us each night, our soft lamps turned on & our wooden shutters closed to keep the draughts out. Even though I live in the country when these shutters are closed & you turn your light out, you can't even see anything at all, amazing. The bedroom was very pleasant, not cold or stuffy. Would have liked tea making facilities. Our bathroom was great, shower was brilliant. The furniture in the bedrooms is just so lovely, no MFI here!
The breakfast was great overlooking the lake again. A great place to unwind from the pressures of everyday living, though this place is a little surreal, like a time warp but brilliant. Staff were all very pleasant especially the gentleman who carried our bags in & offered lifts down to the lodge if we wanted. The library is just a place to sit for hours though my favourite room would be the blue room with the lovely open stove which seemed to be lit all the time, very homely.
This is a slice of Ireland which is disappearing so Thanks to the Leslie family for keeping it alive & allowing guest to wander about downstairs & be made feel at home by each & every staff member.
Dinner at the Snaffles restaurant upstairs at the Lodge was just beautiful, great food, chicken which tasted like I haven't tasted since I was a child, nothing like the bland chicken you get in the shops. Food was also great down in the bar.
The walks around the estate are a must, so many things to see around every corner. The gardens are kept in such good order.
Will return again & will definitely recommend it to my friends. A truly wonderful few days.
As for no TV, that was a plus & they do have Wi Fi downstairs.

Room Tip: Make sure when you book it is the actual Castle you book & not the Lodge as they all seem to und...

Spent a wonderful day/ evening here as the guest at a wedding. One word - totally beautiful and unique venue. Atmosphere and ambience second to none. The meal it's self was delicious and well presented.
Breakfast was a bit slow at times. We dined together with bride and groom as a group which was lovely, but popular items ran out quite quickly and took a while to replace.

Room Tip: The castle rooms are quirky and quite different than experienced before!

Stayed here as part of a wedding. The rooms was wonderful, Victorian styled. I had the comfiest bed I've ever slept in and the view from my room was spectacular - looking over the loch.

The toilets were an experience. Perhaps not the most modern but it's to its credit that Castle Leslie has kept these pieces of history.

The quirky Grandfather Leslie also made an appearance...in his pyjamas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Castle Leslie, honing our jumping and general riding skills. There were two of us and each had a different request. One of us wanted to learn to jump for the first time and the other wanted to improve general riding skills. Everyone at the stables rose to our challenge with remarkable good humour, with the result that both aims were accomplished (well at any rate by the end of our stay both of us were able to do things we never expected). So thank you to everybody: your positive and professional approach got us both to raise our game and gave us all the necessary confidence. We look forward to returning for Round 2, reaquanting ourselves with the glorious 1000-acre equestrian estate and of course the welcoming and cheerful hospitality of the Lodge.

bought this through groupon for a present for my husband and i couldn't have been happier with the service.

We got a room in the 'stables' very spacious with a king size bed, and a big bathroom with a beautiful roll top bath and large walk in shower, we also had a balcony which looked over the stables below perfect for relaxing after evening meal. As part of our package we got champagne on arrival and chocolates which went down a treat.

We had our dinner in Connors bar which was cooked to perfection with friendly waiting staff, making sure we where happy but asking too much as some place can do.

The only negative was as part of the package we had a Victorian steam box session with hot tub we had this booked weeks before arrival but when we went down at the appointment time, we waited in the spa reception area for a few minutes and a girl appeared and as if she wasn't expecting us said oh, your here for the hot tub and when i mentioned that we also have steam box she said oh that hasnt been working for a few weeks, a little curtsy email would have been nice but as this wasnt the deal breaker for us it wasnt an issue.

this is a great hotel for couples getting away from it all, highly recommended.

Just back from a night there with my other half and i have to say its the best hotel ive ever stayed in. It is quirky in a good way and oozes character. The staff were very friendly particularly Owen who took our bags and drove us to the bar in a range rover, an absolute gentleman. Will definitely return and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you to the staff of the coolest castle hotel ive ever stayed in.

Room Tip: No drinks in castle after around midnight so hang on in conors bar until your ready for bed.
