Ashbourne House Hotel

We stayed at the Ashbourne House Hotel on a special offer but were disappointed - there was another special offer running at the same time and we felt that these guests got better treatment. We had a dripping toilet, we mentioned this to reception who told us that the handyman would have a look but was not fixed that day. Later on that night we discovered that we had no hot water in the shower but was to late to get anyone to fix it. When we mentioned the next day that the toilet was still dripping and we had no hot water the recptionist said she would get it looked at again, then gave us the option of moving rooms which we did but this put a damper on our stay. We feel that the area used for breakfast is to small to cater for a full Hotel. The Hotel could do with redecorating - rooms are very dark.

Having read some of the negative reviews before going, I was very apprehensive about this place. However, the room was excellent, the service was lovely and friendly, the food was fine. Overall a good place. The town was nice and had some good attractions nearby. The value of the hotel was fantastic. It doesn't advertise itself as the Ritz so don't expect that standard.

Stayed one night, Saturday 16th Feb, staff were friendly and helpful, whole place could do with redecorating tho, had a bar meal and breakfast neither of which were good, would never had paid full price to stay here and probably wouldn't use this hotel again.

stayed sunday and monday on a groupon deal, wanted a quiet two nights after a busy weekend and found the hotel very relaxing, our deal included a meal in the loft restaurant which was excellent, the same goes for the bar meal we had on the second night. all of the staff we very good and friendly, reception very efficient, the rooms in previous reviews were hit or miss, ours 314 was definately a hit, yes the bathroom was small but functional and everywhere in the hotel was clean. we would have liked a late checkout due to a late flight from dublin airport but the rate quoted was 30 euro per hour, will return to the ashbourne house again.

Room Tip: room 314 was comfortable and i would ask to stay there next time i visit

staff can make a differnce.the welcome ar reception from michelle and sarah is just the beginning.the room was outstanding and the food was very nice.fipelma and lana attended to us and deserve a special mention but to be fair all the staff were very helpful i just did not get their names.the hotel is well presented with the bedrooms all at the rear and away from road traffic noise.there is a large free carpark.with a welcome like this we will be back soon.

Room Tip: as i have already stated the rooms are at the rear with the front the original building housing the...

Great Hotel! Everyone receives a very warm welcome. The staff are great always happy to help with any query. The rooms are spacious and clean. Food is exellent. Bar food or restaurant both very cosy and great service. The bar has live music every weekend and the atmosphere is fantastic, great crac and a great pint of the black stuff. The area around is lovely and not to far from Dublin, about 30 mins drive. Trim is a lovely village and worth a visit as is the Boyne Valley. Go ahead give yourself a nice earned break.

My partner and I have just returned from the 2 night Groupon break and have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the food in The Loft restaurant was exceptional and very filling! My partner is a a vegetarian and found the meal to be very appetising and was pleased to see that there was not just the usual mushroom risotto on the menu! We also took advantage of the breakfast and there was definately something for everyone. The room itself was basic, but large and we had a double and single bed and there was an amazing power shower. The hotel is located around 20 mins from Dublin airport and we got the 109a bus from the airport to directly outside the hotel. There are buses that run from outside the hotel straight into Dublin city centre (103 and 105) for €7.60 return fare. We were also opposite a late night Tesco and numerous local pubs, bars and restaurants. This was all in all a very pleasant stay and we would definitely recommend it and will come back again soon.
