We stayed here at beginning of january for 2 nights, got a good deal including b&b and dinner. The room was basic but fairly comfortable and clean. There is a nice big bar in the hotel.

Breakfast was very disappointing on the first morning, it was cold despite coming straight from the hot counter, not very tasty so we did not bother on the second morning.

Dinner on the other hand was great, very tasty with good portions and helpful friendly waitresses.

Was at a funeral last Saturday and there was a meal back in the Ashbourne House Hotel and I was very disappointed. There was a room booked and when we arrived it was absolutely freezing in it and the smell in the room was disgusting. There was soup to start which was alright, then a choice of beef or salmon. I went for the salmon which was edible but the veg (brocolli and carrots) were straight out of the freezer. Next was apple pie and cream which again was just OK. The only good thing about this place is the staff, they were all lovely. But the room is totally unacceptable, something should be done regarding the smell and also the heating of same.

Lovely relaxing hotel. Most of the staff were civil enough some didnt get enough sleep if you ask me,not very pleasant at all.

Room Tip: 2nd floor of the hotel is for smokers so if your a non smoker book a room on the 1st floor

This Hotel was lovely to stay in. The staff were very friendly and the Manager 'Ciara' could not have been nicer. The food was lovely, the room was a bit dated but were clean. Bar staff very good. Plenty of car park space.

Party room was ideal.

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. Must admit was apprehensive after reading reviews but hotel was booked by company so took my chances. Room was basic but spotless. Great shower... water pressure excellent!! A really nice sociable bar.. food was excellent. great big breakfast. Also dined with a colleague in the restaurant, and this was excellent value at only 55 euro and got a bottle of wine with this too.
If i had any issues it would be maybe barstaff (specifically the males) could be a little more presentable and identifiable. ie name badges and uniform.shirt/tie & clean shaven. Also no wifi in bedrooms is a bit of an issue in this day and age.
All said... this is a budget hotel and i suppose you get what you pay for... it aint luxury but I would go back...
