If you like Indian food, you will love The Cinnamon Garden. By far and away my favourite restaurant in Ashbourne. The food is wonderful. Fresh and delicious. My only gripe is that, while the staff, food and ambience are all brilliant, I sometimes find it a little too dark. And also a little warm, which isn't really great when demolishing a hot curry. But in saying that, do yourself a favour and try this fabulous restaurant.

“Delighted”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

Having lived in West Dublin for 11 years now, I was very happy to finally find an Indian of such high calibre. Have tried a lot of places and this is the best I have found in the area. Got baby sitter on Thursday evening and off we went. I think you would need to know it was here or you would pass it by. The area outside is not great. Pub/takeaway etc. But once you step inside it just gets better and better. Up the stairs to be greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. The decor is really lovely with dimmed lighting. They gave us a booth as it was quiet and we ordered drinks. Popadums arrive with 3 dips. Nice but really should be fresher. Takes 10 seconds to cook them so no reason for the not to be. First impressions and all that. Went for 3 course set menu. This is brilliant value. Small platter to start. The onion baji was so fresh and tasty. Main course was the Tikka, nice and creamy. Peshwari nan was superb. Washed down with a Cobra beer. yum. Desert was a grilled pineapple a fortified wine. Again really good. Nice coffee to finish. Overall I left well feed with delicious treats and thought it was good value. Staff very good and attentive. Good points are staff, decor, food, value, choice, portion size. Bad points. None to speak of. Fresh Popadums would be an improvement. Will it stop me coming back, not a chance. Looking forward to returning with friends and family.

“Special event, special treatment, really pleased”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

Tonight was my birthday and our wedding anniversary, so two events in one. We pre booked, and I did let them know that it was a special occasion, and the result was that when we arrived, the table was special, a happy birthday helium balloon, celebration banners and happy birthday motifs on the table.
We had an al a carte menu, and were really happy, the combination of the spices was superb, none too strong, but very much in evidence, and the main course sea food was a great combination and very tasty.
Desert was a surprise, pannacotta with a celebration candle in it, which took a minute to go out, and happy birthday played on the music system, so no hiding the fact that we were celebrating.

We've been to Cinnamon Garden before, and always been very happy with the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the staff, but this evening was special, and we were very happy with the whole evening, it was very much a special event that went well.

Thanks to all involved, the little touches made it a celebration that we will remember for some time to come.

“Most rushed meal EVER”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

Visited the Cinnamon garden in Ashbourne recently for the first time.
Its a nice place with good food but the meal and our evening was ruined by the obvious rush to feed us and get us out in the shortest possible time. We were served a 3 course meal quicker than a Ryanair turnaround !!!
In all, we were seated, had our order taken and the three courses served in 55 minutes, such was the haste to turn over the table.
This restaurant should realise that people are out for an evening, I should have been alerted to their attitude when I made the booking, as they were trying to set the time to suit themselves, not the customer who pays the bill.
The prices are not cheap to start with, the cost of our one and half out was 81 e for the meal and 30e for a baby sitter.
Never again !!
