I visited Seasons Bistro on Valentines night, on the back of promising recommendations from friends, family and tripadvisor alike. Little did I know how understated all these recommendations would be. Everything, and I mean everything, about the restaurant was of the highest quality. From the larger details of the sheer variety on the menu and the top class service from all the staff, right down to all of the finer items, nothing was omitted or skimped on. The candles and rose petals on the entrance stairs made a wonderful first impression and that continued throughout the meal, right through to the complimentary red rose upon departure. Not the cheapest place on earth, but undoubtedly worth every penny. Could not recommend Seasons Bistro any higher. Keep up the good work.

If you fancy a wonderful cosy atmosphere and high quality food Seasons is definitely the place to go in Portlaoise. The early bird menu is excellent and good value and even the a la carte menu is reasonably priced for the service and fare given. A must!

We went to Seasons for our annual family Christmas dinner. Always an event to look forward to so we take care to look for a restaurant that comes with a good reputation.
When we arrived we were shown to our seats, friendly waiting staff and quick to take an order.
Then the waiting started. There appeared to be one waitress and potentially one chef in the restaurant for Sunday lunch sittings.
Our starter arrived quickly enough. Most of us had a good vegetable soup with brown bread and one of the party had a nice Caesar Salad. Fair enough so far.
The main course took an hour to arrive. Now we had young children with us so that was never going to work. Luckily they were kept occupied with distractions we had brought with us.
When the mains arrived I was disappointed. The plate was over complicated and lacked balance. Turkey was hard and dry and strangled in leathery prosciutto. The other diners had lamb which was also quite dry and another beef which was indistinguishable from the lamb - brown and dry looking. So not many marks there then.
So finished the mains, another gap to order desert only to be told they ran out of Christmas pudding the night before. Now you would think it being Christmas and all people would like a bit of Christmas pudding including this writer, I had been looking forward to it for weeks beforehand. Eventually chose a toffee sticky pudding for desert. Overall the deserts were very nice and some decent sized portions. Jury still out on the main course. Reasonable value for money had the mains been of better quality and the waiting periods not so long.
End to end a little over 2 hours for a Sunday lunch.

I love this restaurant. The food is really very good and the staff are very helpful. It has a real homely feel while being very professionay run. Food is not cheap but is very worth it.

Visited Seasons recently and was hit with the "wow" factor. The food was bursting with taste which is very hard to find in a Restaurant today. Excellent service and good value to accompany the above.
