“Brilliant weekend away!”
Reviewed May 12, 2014

We stayed at the Maudlins Hotel last weekend for a friends Hen doo as we were attending the Punchestown Festival. It was a fantastic weekend which was topped off by the brilliant helpful and friendly service at the hotel. The staff couldn't do enough to make your stay pleasant. The food was brilliant, the breakfasts were plentiful and set us up for the day and the place was kept clean. Its only a short taxi ride into Naas that will cost minimal amount, I think you could walk it but we didn't. Naas itself is a really great little town with lots going on. The only slight reservation we had was that our room smelt a bit damp and left our clothes a bit damp, but none of the others that were in our party had the same problem. This didn't matter too much to us as the service and atmosphere well made up for it. Would most definitely return! Thanks again.

Booked this restaurant for a Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. I had contacted the owners beforehand to ask if it was possible to do something special, and they surprised us with a very nicely decorated dessert saying 'Happy Anniverary' in melted chocolate. Amazing!!

Other than that, the food and wine were amazing. We had some pate as a starter, and then both of us had a steak. With the Merlot wine this was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant - the food is great, the service is very good (friendly, personalized), and it's good value for money.

My husband and I got a superb deal for a one night stay. We had a beautiful 4 course evening meal with a bottle of prosecco, the nicest and freshest full Irish breakfast I've ever been served (and I've had a few!) with a late checkout. The staff couldn't have been nicer, atmosphere was relaxed and we felt the better for our stay. Refreshed and ready for action. In the words of Arnold "we'll be back"

Spent one night here with my partner. Hotel was very quiet. The main bar was not open when we were there and we had to go downstairs to one of the function rooms. Barman didn't seem very organised. We ordered two drinks and it took him a good ten mins to get them - he put the drinks on to a tray at the bar, then went around the room and dealt with other customers, then came back to give us our drinks.
The room was clean and warm (had no problems with the centralised heating). Bed was very comfortable and had a good nights sleep. The shower was very hit and miss tho, running hot and cold constantly, very disappointing.
Our meal was very nice & came with a free bottle of Prosecco which the waitress brought to us without us asking. The food was lovely, very tasty and nicely presented. Breakfast, on the other hand, was disappointing. We came down at 10.30 and there was very little left. There was no fruit salad left, the hot food was slim pickings and none of the staff were checking to see if there was enough to go around. Also, the tea and coffee were in thermos flasks. I couldn't drink the tea.
On the whole, we had a nice stay but some minor changes could have turned it in to a very lovely stay.

Stayed here overnight on a great voucher deal and we had a great night. The room was large warm comfortable very clean with tea/coffee making and even bikkies ! The staff def made our stay from the barman Kieran who produced strawberries for our prosecco ( 3 bottles incl in deal for six of us ) .We then enjoyed a lovely dinner and back to bar for more prosecco and again strawberries remembered.Breakfast was lovely next day made all the better by Valerie who went beyond all to ensure we had all we wanted. After checkout we lingered and had coffee and lovely homemade biscuits .Really enjoyed stay made all the better by the friendly and competent staff. Will def be back. Thanks to all

I have stayed in this hotel on two occasions both for one night stays. The staff are friendly but at €110 per night mid winter the place is overpriced. The breakfast is very basic just a choice of cereals & breakfast fry - all self service buffet. The bread choice was poor quality & was a day old. The staff do not even serve fresh tea & coffee - this is provided via large thermos flasks on the buffet.
There was no WiFi service in the hotel on my recent visit.
All in all this was bad value for money and I would be prefer not to stay there again

We stayed for 14th Feb Valentines Night I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful so spacious and comfortable and spotless. We had a meal in the restaurant. It was excellent and we were looked after to the best considering the electricity went off for an hour. It was a most enjoyable stay and we will be back again.
