My boyfriend and I went to the Bay tree for Valentine's. (We stayed in the Clanard Court Hotel as we are from Co Down, read my review for that too, top top hotel)
The owner Michael was extremely attentive and the food was mouth-watering.
The restaurant was pretty and quaint and the atmosphere was chilled, relaxing and romantic. The wall hanging on the stairs was beautiful. I wanted to take it home with me=)
For a three course meal it cost 25 euros per head!!! An excellent rate for a beautiful experience I will never forget and with the best man in the world sitting opposite me, what else could a girl want for...well apart from the wall hanging=)
We are from Co Down and we chatted tonight about the Bay Tree and said we actually drive just down there to go for the meal again.
The Bailey's roulade is to die for. My mouth is watering now thinking about it.
If you read this Micheal, thanks.
From,
Laura.

stopped off on the way to the rushes area for a bite. i found it immediately took the edge off a town i didnt know.it was very friendly ,cosy and yet the staff didnt get in your face.left alone just enough by the stunning blonde waitress.
music was david gray and slight trance mix.
the food is best described as not wanting anything.annoyed i couldnt try the whole menu.
dont usually write reviews but found it needed to be said .close to perfection.

If you like food you will love the Bay Tree. Tha care and attention that goes into producing good honest wnd wholesome food shines through during the daytime cafe, but the evening menu is a complete suprise and a delight, a lovely atmosphere, great selection of dishes, mostly Gluten free, wonderful wine list, and stunning desserts, what more could you ask for? Friendly staff, professional service and a lot more besides............you simply must go.

Great staff, lovely atmosphere, interesting art in constantly changing exhibitions.... and above all ...excellent food. A real treat for coeliacs with lots of choice and clearly labelled by the knowledgable staff. Tasty food morning, noon and night and a great selection of wicked desserts and cakes.
