My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed in Dollardstown House last night, From the moment Antoinette opened the door to us we were welcomed with an open heart. A wave of heat from the log fires and the powerful central heating greeted us also. Tea and warm scones in front of the fire were on hand after which we were shown into the truly comfortable Master Bedroom. We had a pre booked dinner, cooked by their 'executive chef, Lydia' in the antique filled dining room with another log fire and deep armchairs. Everything was so special. Home made breads, scones, gluten free bread for one of our group, nothing was too much trouble for Antoinette and Andrew, all done with friendliness and skill. I want to wish them so much success and to say, if you are reading this, just go and meet this wonderful couple in their historic home.

Room Tip: The house is in 20 acres of parkland so any room would be great, I imagine. We were in the Master Be...

Dear U and friends,

Many, many thanks for the lovely comments. It is wonderful to read you enjoyed our tranquil surroundings and the three course dinner by the open fire for your special occasion. And of course we are more than happy to cater for special diets one request.
We hope you'll honour us with maybe another visit.
Warmest regards,
Andrew & Antoinette

We stayed here last weekend 21st Sept for a mini break away from the City. It was a really great stay from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome in Andrew & Antoinette's beautiful home. We were amazed at the stunning grounds, truly beautiful and immensely enjoyed our break away. Only bad point was that we didn't have more time to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside / walks. A special thank you to Andrew for imparting some of his extensive horticultural knowledge and for Antoinette who made the best fig jam, scones, and brown bread ever :) We would absolutely love to & hope to visit again.

Room Tip: The Chocolate room was very pretty, as i'm sure all of them are.

Wow M. Thank you so much for sharing you've enjoyed the house, grounds and gardens. We do our best to use as many local and home-made products as we can and this year our little fig-harvest worked out well. I guess we have to plant more fig-trees!
Thank you for intending a return visit. Andrew & I are looking forward to welcoming the two of you again.
Warmest regards,
Andrew & Antoinette

Stayed here with my girlfriend for the weekend of Electric Picnic festival.
(Location 20minutes or so from the festival site.)
Booking over the phone I knew Antoinette was very accommodating and hospitable, but actually getting to location and staying there we saw it fully in action. It is such a lovely place - very tranquil and full of character and charm. Our room was great and the bed was amazing. We didn't take the complimentary option of freshly baked scones on arrival though as we were busy.
Couldn't rate this place highly enough. Breakfast is served in a large Georgian parlour room with massive open turf fire. Very nice. Breakfast was perfect - really nice produce, freshly baked breads and preserves. Got chatting to Andrew and Antoinette also inbetween them being overly hospitable during breakfast service - really friendly and genuine. Would definitely come back to stay here - possibly annually for the festival or anytime we are in the locality. Great spot - good people

Room Tip: All rooms are different and unique. We stayed in the Iris Room which was cool and had really interes...

This was our second stay at Dollardstown House, having been down in 2012 as well. Antoinette and Andrew are so friendly and accommodating and gave us a brilliant welcome back. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable, and the character of the house is amazing. We will be back!

My husband & I had the pleasure of a night's stay at Dollardstown House en-route to a wedding in Limerick. We were warmly welcomed by their chef Lydia who served wonderful tea & scones in the magnificent drawing room. The house is stunning and surrounded by parkland; we enjoyed a walk before a sumptuous dinner (Lydia is a gem!) in the equally lovely dining room where a fire had been thoughtfully lit for us. The owners, Andrew & Antoinette, can't do enough for their guests and made us feel so comfortable in their lovely home; like old friends rather than paying guests. The breakfast was fab, we had a delicious continental which is a rarity in Ireland! Home-made bread, boiled eggs & scrummy baked goods as well as fruit, yoghurt & cereal. Nothing is too much trouble here; we'd taken our coffee outside after dinner for my husband to have a cigarette, Antoinette meanwhile was hunting out candles & blankets to bring out to us! The bedroom was lovely with a view over the parkland; super comfy bed & lots of little touches which make a stay that extra bit special such as books & magazines.
We can't say enough in praise of Dollardstown House, we very much hope to return!

We enjoyed 2 most enjoyable days in Dollardstown. Whilst the restoration of the house is a work in progress the warm welcome we received and attentiveness of our hosts was of the highest quality. We would have no hesitation in recommending Dollardstown and it is ideally located for exploring Kildare, Carlow & Kilkenny

I have just spent a fantastic relaxing weekend with my girlfriend enjoying the the comforts of the house. The decor was exactly what we wanted, grand but not overstated and very comfortable. But the difference was our hosts, from before booking to checkout they were always keen to help and did so with a smile. From the big things such as catering completely for my girlfriends dairy allergy to making sure she learnt our names we always felt that nothing was a bother and she cared about our stay. I cannot praise them enough.

Room Tip: We had the master bedroom - it was suitably opulent.
