We decided to take a last minute boat trip today and so glad we did. Skipper Mick Sheeran gave us a wonderful tour. We were able to watch him release a Manx Shearwater back into the wild which was amazing. The Skipper and his first mate also saved a small sheep that had gotten stuck on a rock. We saw lots of seals as well. Even though the weather was "soft" as they say here in Ireland, we still had a great trip. I would recommend for anyone who wants to get off the roads and have an adventure at sea with a friendly captain and crew.

We did the full day tour during the heatwave in July 2013 (got a bit of a sunburn...) and had such a great day! Mick, Britta and Billy were very helpful and we saw lots of dolphins, puffins, minke whales, porpoises and seals. The stop on Great Blasket was wonderful as well. This was the highlight of week on the peninsula, so we went back for the afternoon tour a few days later which was just as good. Sadly no basking sharks (there were 4 of them the day before we went) so we'll have to go back for another holiday and do it again!

Our family had a great trip out round the Blasket islands. The crew were friendly and tried their best to allow us to see the wildlife and we were rewarded with seeing puffins, dolphins and a minke whale. The trip through the Blasket islands area is super and well worth the effort. The trip lasts 4 hours so its a good idea to take some food and clothing to cater for a change in the weather.

My family and I enjoyed a great day out today on an Eco tour from Ventry Co Kerry .The tour was a great excursion and was great value for money. The boat was comfortable and well equipped with life rafts and jackets and the transfer from pier to craft was well conducted by the crew. The skipper Mick, and his assistant Billy were helpful and cheerful and well informed dealing with all questions from the many nationalities on board. .

The highlights were many and varied in addition to the spectacular scenery of islands, cliffs and seascapes we saw shoals of playful common dolphins,a group of porpoises lots of seals and three sightings of a minke whales and several large shoals of jellyfish .

This trip is a must for anyone interested in seeing marine life at close range or indeed for anyone who wants to enjoy nature in all it's beauty.

The weather wasn't very cooperative for the time we were to be in Dingle. We saw a small window of opportunity to try to do this Eco Tour, which was a nature viewing ride. The usual trip goes out to find dolphins, seals, and puffins. This particular morning there had been a rare sighting of killer whales earlier and finding them became our mission. We were all delighted when we finally spotted two of them. Unfortunately, it appeared that they were feeding and they kept going deep so we were unable to get any sort of good, long look at them. The captain did his best, following them about four miles beyond where he usually turns back just so we could catch a few more glimpses. The whole ride out and back, Billy walked around the boat telling each passenger a bit about what we were seeing along the coast and answering all sorts of questions about the area. On the return trip, the bad weather started moving in so almost everyone took seats inside the boat and the Captain (Mick) took over telling us about the whales and the area. It was a very interesting trip. We all sent them copies of photos we were able to capture of the whales in the hope that the IWDG [Irish Whale and Dolphin Group] would be able to identify them from their markings. If not, then they would be entirely new to this area. What a rare treat!

Thank you very much for your recent review regarding your killer whale trip aboard the Blasket Princess. We immediately forwarded the pictures you sent us to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group who in turn sent them to the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust in Scotland. While we haven't got official confirmation yet there is a good chance the two animals were WO5 'Comet' and WO9 'Puffin' from the Scottish West Coast Community of killer whales. You can read an article about those two whales and your trip on the IWDG website (www.iwdg.ie). Getting good pictures of whales helps immensely with the identification and conservation of these wonderful animals - thank you very much for your extremely helpful contribution!
