“A Beautiful cottage in beautiful Spiddal in beautiful Galway”

We stayed in Lals cottage for the last week of September 2015. What a Wonderful cosy thatch cottage to spend a week in. It was spotlessly clean (immaculate). It had everything you needed. Plenty of room too. Beds very comfy, great shower, great heating, perfect kitchen, home away from home. Lots of space outside too, was great to have table/bench out the back of cottage with plenty of chairs. A real gem in the middle of Spiddal village. Beach only a stones throw away..
Village itself has all you need, great bar/food, couple of good supermarkets, and 2 doors down from cottage is the best pizza house in Ireland (Fiordigrano Pizza). Wonderful pizza and pasta dishes open from 4pm till 10pm tues to Sunday.
Last but not least, our hosts Martin and Carmel, thank you for letting us experience Lals house. We loved every minute of it..

“IDEAL HOLIDAY WEEK IN SPIDDAL in a lovely 300 year old Thatched cottage”
Reviewed October 24, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Lals cottage was even better than we had expected. In fact, it was a 300 year old thatched cottage but with most of the modern amenities and superbly located. Eventhough we did not have the internet that was easily accessable from the local hotel or pub. There was nothing that it did not have that we needed. Our Hostess, Carmel, even brought us freshly homemade goodies now and then. If we were to return to Spiddal or even the Galway area would would absolutely chose to stay at Lals Cottage again. Thank you Carmel and Martin

This cottage is so well situated for the village itself and for exploring the wonderful Connemara area. It contains everything one needs for a perfect holiday base, comfortable and clean. Shops, pubs and garage all close by, as well as a local Craft Centre for buying different sorts of presents to take home. Views across the bay add to its charm.

“Best Rental Experience We've Ever Had !”

We spent a wonderful week at this lovely cottage in Spiddal. It has all current amenities while still maintaining the old world charm. It is located right on the edge of town which allows for easy walking access to the shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the very scenic harbor. Spiddal is a terrific little town and it is a great jumping off spot for exploring this area of western Galway. Carmel and Martin were fabulous hosts. They were readily accessible to answer any questions and were very helpful in putting us in touch with people who assisted us in researching family ties.
In all ways this was one of our best travel and holiday experiences.

“Faultless cottage in a beautiful village”

Perfect stay in this gorgeous traditional Irish cottage in a beautiful coastal village.
Carmel and Martin are super friendly and very helpful.
We needed to sign important legal documents while we were in Ireland and Carmel kindly made phone calls for us and organized an appointment with our consulate to enable us to do this.
We were greeted and given instructions for everything we needed by Martin and were left yummy homemade bread and biscuits baked by Carmel who was away for the weekend, but she called 2 days later with yummy scones and to check everything was in order.
There were 3 of us, but the house would comfortably accommodate 6 adults.
The beds were very comfortable, loads of hot water for showers, and the benefit of having a washing machine, dishwasher and dryer on holidays for 1 week is a bonus.
The village had everything we needed including pubs with traditional Irish music nightly which was amazing.
It is the ideal location for exploring Connemara, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher and much more!

I would have no hesitation in recommending this little gem to anyone wanting a holiday in this beautiful part of Ireland.

This thatched house is a dream come true. This is an authentic Irish cottage but also has modern amenities. It is ideally situated in the heart of Spiddal village. Carmel is the perfect host with delicious homemade treats on arrival. On leaving we decided to book immediately for next year! :)
