“Worst guide ever - Go with the other tour companies.”
Reviewed September 13, 2010

We booked a Connemara tour and picked between 3 companies offering identical itineraries. I picked the wrong company. Every other bus and company left on time and in nice coaches. We were left waiting more than 30 minutes for a very small coach with little leg room and no bathroom. The speaker system was so muffled that we could hear nothing. The guide was made aware of this but she did nothing to address it. Perhaps it was just as well since she was delivering a very monotone lifeless description of anything when she chose to speak at all. Perhaps she was on the Guinness all night before? She brought her little girl which was no problem, but she herself had zero personality and made no attempt to make up for the late start to our morning simply stating that it couldn't be helped. I guess part of our scheduled itinerary was replaced with the 4 extra bathroom breaks as well as her coffee stop. The brochure advertised a free Connemara walk and included pictures of some of the places we would visit. We did not receive a walk through a famine village, or the Connemara walk, or the picture opportunity of the Quiet Man Bridge. What we received for our euro was the old bait and switch. How else was she able to get us back into town 30 minutes early with the late start? We were not given the value for our money despite her proclaiming, "We received everything and more." We should have stuck with the other company, Healy, as we very much enjoyed our tour and guide from the previous day. I presume that if we were scheduled with any other guide this would have been a different experience. Run for the hills if you learn your guide will be this woman.

“Great tour”
Reviewed May 27, 2010

We recently returned from Ireland and had a great tour of the Connemara region along with Kylemore Abbey and Ross Errily Friary. Our tour guide Michael D was entertaining and made sure we had a great time. The stop in Cong was a nice touch.

“O'Neachtain no way”
Reviewed September 18, 2009

I could never recommend O'Neachtain Tours. We used them for a tour out of Galway to the Cliffs of Mohr. Their bus was older, dirty and cramped compared to other bus tours we used in Ireland. The intercom broke down and the driver spent so long trying to fix it he had to rush through the tour to make up time. My legs were cramped in the small space. My wife complained of the same problem with no leg space and she is only 5 foot five inches. There are other tour companies in Galway with newer coaches, use someone else. They are all the same price so go for a newer bus.

“A great day tour out of Galway”
Reviewed June 21, 2009

Just returned from Ireland and a highlight was the great day trip we took with O'Neachtain Tours. Our guide, Michael O'Malley gave the most interesting tour of Connemara area -- complete with seeing "killer" sheep, the Connemara Ponies, Kylemore Abbey, and beautiful area of the Quiet Man filming. Just sit back and enjoy the view!
