Description: Our 'Gentian @ St Georges' is a brasserie with a twist: serving dishes to share with robust, sunny flavours, typically from a contemporary Irish, European palette with good old comfort food thrown in, The Gentian's ethos is one of quality, innovation, freshness and abundance with comfort and friendliness thrown in. Our coffee already has a reputation.....We will be looking after you all day, with substantial breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The setting is informal with local stone and splashes of colour; Burren and south Galway, blended with funky london, has a relaxed cosy, curl up feel, with windows looking out over the Kinvara bay - colour and comfort, space for reading chatting, meeting up or getting way from it all.

“Gentian serves comfort and atmosphere”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Enjoy the tables by the windows to watch the bay and the village life pass by. Orla's baked goods and soups are a warming treat....the wireless access is also a great plus although you won't find endless Macs on tabletops...more like people chatting and catching up making it a restaurant first and iCafe last. Caitriona and Dominic have create a haven in the village to meet friends and family. There is a real welcome at the Gentian. Thanks Cait, Dominic, Eileen, Laura, Orla and Megan for looking after us!

“Anomaly in pricing”
Reviewed November 17, 2012 via mobile

Couldnt fault service or food but beware:

The full Irish breakfast costs €7.95 with tea/coffee

The mini Irish is advertised as a breakfast for the smaller appetite and costs €5.95

I assumed it included tea/coffee but it doesn't and so the bill was €8.15 with coffee for a smaller breakfast.

When I queried it I was told that staff had made the owner aware of the issue.

Come on St Georges - get your pricing in order. Pity as it left a sour taste to what was an otherwise good experience.

This anomaly was corrected as soon as it was pointed out to us. Our Full/Small/Veggie Irish Breakfast all include tea/coffee and toast in the price. Looking forward to many more reviews and supportive customers. Thanks once again.
