“Authentic Connemara experience”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

We love this place - authentically Irish, very cozy with a fire in the fireplace. The food was very good although a bit overpriced. Wondering what the food used to be like when it was even better, before one of the reviewers noticed its decline. We had a delightful meal there, plus a great craic with other diners who were Irish speaking. It was such a treat for us to hear the language. A quintessential Connemara experience! This place has become our must stop in Connemara. Can't wait to go back!

“Simply perfect”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Located in the gorgeous seaside fishing village of Roundstone in the stunning Connemara country north of Galway, this absolutely perfect little pub (it received a James Joyce pub award) is situated right on the water overlooking Roundstone's small harbour. In the same family for a century, the place is filled with local families, fishermen as well (in October at least) the odd tourist. Besides a great Guinness and Irish coffee, the pub specializes in fresh, local seafood, which looked delectable. We almost regretted our huge morning breakfast, but still ordered fresh calamari, which was delicious. Recommended by local potter Rose O'Toole (whose studio and beautiful work is located just north of town), it feels like an Irish pub should -- warm, welcoming and nicely worn.

“Very busy barmaid”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

Lovely young, energetic barmaid, coping with everything, bar cooking, completely on her own. Good atmosphere and good food. Whoever employs this girl needs to up her salary! She's an absolute diamond.

“Cosy pub with good food”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Loved the cosy bar and its menu. The food was good and there was friendly service...good range of beers too if you don't want Guinness. Give it a go if you're there.
